I think that it is more likely that if we provide logical, concise, thought provoking, intelligent arguments stating our position rather that ranting about it, especiallly with blatent misspellings. We will have a far better chance at getting what we want for future patches and DLC

I agree, only problem is it is NOT possible EVER. Because someone will come, flame and do what they do best and the idea and argument will fade because someone wanted to destroy the thread.

I've tried modding it in and I can't get anything to work.

You can change what happens as you initiate a dialog and there's a bRemoveWeapons there that logically hides your weapons as you start the dialog. I've tried adding a bRemoveHelmet and bRemoveHelmets and the old ME1 bHelmetVisible but nothing actually works (tried it with the normal N7 helmet only since it was most likely to work).

This has probably been mentioned before, but in order to "fix" the helmet issue, Bioware would have to rework all of the single-piece armors so that a regular head would look right with the body of the armor. As they are now, the models that represent the armor are a single piece. The Terminus "head" works with the Terminus "body", in terms of position, movement, etc. If you rotate the armors when looking at them in the Armor Locker and flip through the selections available, you'll notice that the all differ slightly. If they "patched" the game to remove the helmet and replace it with a bare head it probably wouldn't look right. This is a substantial amount of work and a sizable download down the road.

Just want to keep people's expectations in check.

NOTE: I am writing this from an Xbox user's perspective. With modders on the PC, all bets are off.

I'm fine with these armors existing... I do hope that some of the DLC that they come out with has some N7 parts. But really, I'd rather have new squad members and storylines than outfits.

Look, I'd like a helmet toggle too, but it's not the end of the bloody freaking world if you have to wear the helmet while wearing special armor. It IS a unique set without interchangeable pieces (as far as I know). I swear, people get free stuff and they can still find something to complain about, even though it adds more content.

Realistically that's probably why they won't do it, but it would be nice for them to come out with at least something along the lines of "we didn't expect the helmet concern and future armor will have removable helmets if you so desire."  It shouldn't be a problem to design armor sets specifically with the intention of removing the helmet, or they could start adding in new pieces for the N7 set.  Either way, just some sort of dialogue would be nice.

And for all the Bioware apologists... get off your high horse.  You bought a product and as a consumer have every right to voice your opinion on something you dislike.  You like your helmets on and don't see it as a problem?  Great, here's a cookie.  It IS a concern for some and to tell them to just sit down and "be thankful for what you get" is incredibly stupid.  Also if you just sit by with your thumb up your butt content with everything given to you, nothing you dislike will get changed.

I think it should be patched later on. The armor looks nice but the Helmet is ugly as sin.

I'm not really thankful to be honest, it's because I'm not wearing the DLC armors, I don't have to be thankful about it.

I'd just be happy if they added a way to toggle the normal N7 armor to be honest. Or atleast point to some unofficial way to do it.

It's a free set of armor and a free shotgun. And your complaining? Shall I give you a free piece of gum but because it isn't extra sugary do you not want it? No probably not. Quit complaining. If you paid money for it then complain, but Bioware gave it to you guys for FREE. They aren't obligated to give you the ability to remove your helmet, paint it a different color and what not,

I'd like that too. There should be some store that rebuilds the old N7 armor the one that Shepard was wearing when the first Normandy got blown up. I don't understand why they removed the option to wear the ME1 heavy and medium armor variants. How come everyone in the game wears them except Shepard? No fair.

Some of us are not "apologists" and have in fact agreed that a helmet toggle would be a nice thing (myself included). However, those of us who are reasonably mature do not throw tantrums about being stuck with helmets and do not put things in our thread titles like "BioWare Screws It Up Again" solely because BioWare (for whatever reasons) cannot implement a helmet toggle at this time. Maybe they can eventually, or maybe they never will. Either way, maybe some people need to grow up and try asking for what they want in a civil manner instead of, yes, I'll say it: acting out like children when they really should appreciate getting new content free.

No, but if I buy a product from you and you give me a promise of another product that provides free gum only to find out all the gum you give me is sugar free original gum or the hard as a rock sticks that used to come in packs of baseball cards, don't be surprised if I go "hey, buddy... you got anything better?"

I did pay money for the game when I bought it. How many armors did that include? Yeah... there's a point. They NEED to fill the game with content to make it last.

Oh, I agree fully with you.  Do I wish you could toggle the helmets?  Sure, it'd be nice.  I'm not going to throw a big stink about it though and do feel the topic title and post were a bit over the top.  Really I was just pointing out that the 2 extremes of "I will never play a Bioware game again because I can't take my helmet off!" are just as bad as the "You don't have the right to complain, be thankful Bioware did something!" are just as bad as each other.

Christina Norman, i believe, said that they won't be making any helmet-less versions because its a one piece set. It isn't customizable. So just deal with it. It really isn't that bad to be honest.

Agreed - people on both sides can be too defensive/rabid. Well, if what the poster below said is accurate, it looks like it's a moot point and the helmet toggle will not happen in ME2.

Oh yes that makes perfect sense. How dare Bioware not give me the ability to remove a helmet. I clearly paid 60 dollars for that feature and not the 50+ hours of gameplay.

It takes MUCH longer to do all that you know then just create one model. If they were to make all those choices it would cost them more money due to the time it takes which would make Bioware less motivated to release it for free. Do you really want that?

Agreed. I am in the same boat as everyone else. I would LIKE for Bioware to rework existing armors, I just know that given the logistics of such an undertaking, it probably won't happen. Additionally, I am in favor of future armors (which haven't already been designed) including a toggle option. Although, now that I think about it, having some armors toggle and other not would seem funky looking back a year from now. They'll probably maintain the status quo.

Re: Apologists. The second one person takes their opinion to the extreme and lashes out at those who disagree, the resulting back and forth flame war results in the hijacking of decent discussion and the locking of threads. Best if everyone agrees to disagree and moves on to the next topic.
