That's why I replaced his shotgun with the revenant, instead of a bog standard assault rifle, that way he's brutal at mid-range, but there's better characters for short or long range combat.



The likes of Garrus/Legion/Zaeed seem to be built for long ranges with an AR as a just incase weapon for shorter ranges. While Grunt is built for in your face action, but can use the AR if you want him to hang back against a particularly tough enemy.



I like it, it gives Jacob a role to excel at, without making any other characters feel worthless.

Biotics for allies don't work the same way as they do for Shepard. You can't arc them - they go in a straight line from Shepard to the enemy and travel instantaneously.

...  Yes, which is why you're using Pull on them before they go to cover.

Jacob's lift is very helpful if you aren't a biotic. It can disable a weak, grunt-like enemy, or a stronger enemy after you've taken down their defences.

Would almost rather him have Barrier baseline, would give him an early advantage untill you can start doing loyalty missions.



As it stands, he just doesn't fit in anywhere. Jack/Samara have more useful biotics, Miranda is much better utility, and Zaeed/Grunt are much better close range fighters.
