I've played through the tuto mission a few times now, and I don't think it's ever clearly explained why Wilson tried to kill Shepard, Miranda and well, all Cerberus staff on that station.

Plot hole? Or am I missing something? :?

Maybe he was frustrated that Miranda was paying so much attention to Shepard and not enough to the head polish he scrubbed on that morning.

I think it's a plot hole. If I had to guess I'd guess that the Collectors were paying him, a la the Vorcha plague which was never adequately explained.

short answer: Shadow broker, he doesn't care for cerberus after they took his dead shepard.

Alt answer: the entire thing was a setup to test shepard, and clean up the evidence.

Because he is EVIL!

The "I can't have Miranda, so nobody can!" argument is weak at best.

Perhaps he was working for The Shadow Broker and had planned to take Shepard there once the Lazarus project was complete, and thus deliver Shepard to The Collectors. Don't know.

I thought so too, but it really needs more explanation.

Honestly, if I wanted to make my mark believe me more than the other guy, I'd def have set up Wilson to be the fall guy.

Oh, and that whole bit about how she wanted to put controlling devices in you but was veto'd? Yea... I'd TOTALLY let my mark know that.

Sense of security and all that.

It's possible the Lazarus Project leaked, and Wilson was hired to kill Shepard before it could be completed... but I think it's a conspiracy, Cerberus trying to get rid of all the 'loose ends' maybe? All the scientists that worked on the project were killed, and Jacob doesn't really know any of the specifics, so he's no threat.

I dunno, just a thought. :P

One he was jealous of how much money TIM poured into the Lazarus Project and how none of that money was coming his way. He was also pissed because Mirand wouldn't give him the time of day.

I'm thinking it's like KOTOR-2 where the protaganist is incapacitated and a bad guy is planning to hand the protaganist over to some other bad guys looking for the protaganist after the machines have killed all of the people.in the station

I'm betting that it was just a cover up by TIM. You kill off almost everyone involved in the project aside from your top operatives, test Shepard's abilities, cover up all the evidence, and then use the sole survivor as a scape goat. Wilson may have been suspicious, but there really wasn't enough evidence to convince me that he was behind it. Besides, how could Cerberus been so foolish as to let one medical personal access the entire mech security database and disengage the targeting parameters? Seems so careless.

That'd make TIM even more EVIL...

I started a thread on this myself I mean it seems pretty obvious that Wilson was payed off to kill Shepard. I mean the message Wilson notes down about wishing TIM would kick a little bit more money his way,and the shock in his voice when Jacob tells him over the radio that he's with Shepard. It really sucks the way it's like dropped and nothing is ever said about it again. I think it would of made a cool N7 mission at least to piece together who payed off Wilson to betray Cerberus and kill Shepard. Maybe we'll get a dlc to continue it otherwise its a gaping plot hole to me I would think Shepard either paragon or renegade play style would even of for slightly different reasons want to figure out who did it and why. I mean it could even tie in to the warden of the prison ship reasons for wanting to hold you which I felt was kind of another slight plot hole.

Discussed to death. Wilson was either paid off by the Collectors or the Shadow Broker. Alternatively, it was a fairly impressive Xanatos Gambit by the Illusive Man, who probably ordered Wilson to hack the mechs and then told Miranda that Wilson was the traitor.

They should have done a side mission series of quests to address this part of the game. Small things like this can make the side missions memorable.
