Is it worth using DLC Armors since they cannot be upgraded?

Does this mean that the DLC armours are useless?
Because I rally wanted to use the Blooddragon armor on my Hardcore Engineer but if its inferrior to ingame armor, I wont use it.
Also what DLC armors are best for what classes?(if the DLC armors are not useless that is)

Blood Dragon Armor is the best DLC armor for the three "caster" classes (Engineer, Adept, Sentinel) while Terminus Armor is great for Soldiers and Vanguards until they get their post-Horizon or post-Collector Ship armor pieces. Collector Armor is alright if you're having survivability issues, and Inferno Armor doesn't come with much to recommend it...

Yup pretty sure that the DLC armors (at least the Blood Dragon and Collectors) don't benefit from upgrades.

What are they referring to? Actual upgrades or armor pieces?

Is it just me or does the new Cerberus Armor look like a power rangers suit the kids at halloween wear? the helmet gives it away.

Maybe that's what the OP was getting at. The customization and modularity present with the N7 armor makes it superior in my eyes too.

Pre-Horizon the DLC armors are good... post Horizon you can buy upgrades that make the N7 armor better.

Some confusion here, are we talking about upgrade as in armor pieces you can purchase or upgrades as in the stuff you can research? I'm pretty sure the researched armor upgrades do apply to DLC since upgrades like bio amp, damage protection are for the entire squad. it wouldn't make sense if they don't apply
Im not sure but im almost positive that the ones like Skin weave. etc dont apply since they are shepard only and part of the 'armor' selecion.
But I really don't know thats why I'm asking the question. I would love it if a Dev could clear this up, since there seems to be no way to search for it currently.

Upgrades that don't appear as "N7 Armour Pieces" are universal. So the extra ammo upgrades are NOT universal, as you have to choose them when making your N7 armour (This only applies to the two you can select as armour pieces). Upgrades like damage reduction ARE universal as you don't select them as individual pieces for the N7 armour.
I base this on nothing more than common sense.
DLC armour (Blood Dragon armour especially) are much better than the N7 armour for about half the game. Even now with all the armour pieces, I only wear the N7 armour because I can change its colour. The overall bonus are pretty close.

There is no such thing as armor upgrades, so I'm not sure where that came from. DLC armor sets are better early in the game until you have a few different pieces of N7 armor to choose from.
I am 100% sure of this because, as I have already said, I have never seen armor upgrades in the game and am confident I haven't missed anything major like this.
Edit: Ah, sorry for repeating what Akimb0 has said.

Says you. Terminus is a very good early armor before some of the more interesting N7 pieces become available, and even after they're all available nothing can do what Terminus Armor does better than Terminus Armor.Michale_Jackson wrote...
The Terminus armor Bioware/Gamespot gave away was completely useless. I mainly researched upgrades of the main n7 armor.
