Ah, I thought it said Eezo was Dark Matter (or maybe I just inferred it from its statement about producing Dark Energy) my mistake.
Yeah, dark matter and dark energy don't have anything to do with each other, actually. They're both named that way just because they are unknown factors used to explain why the structure of the universe differs from the models made to describe it. Though dark matter has all but proven since then, since its gravity fields can be observed, but the dark energy is still rather hypothetical.
Actually that is a debatable point, given that Dark Matter supposedly accounts for more matter than non-dark matter and dark energy's effect which cannot be observed in our environment appear on a larger scale through the apparent expansion of the universe. A casual relationship between them has been explored in numerous papers etc, though there exists no proof that one in fact produces the other, or that DE actually exists. As the expansion effects could be the result of other factors concerning unrealized potentials in existing fundamental forces. (Such as how it was not known when the Strong Force was first named that in close enough proximity it actually changes from attractive to repulsive)
Either way, its all mental masturbation until a way to test it is derived.

Actually in special relativity matter equals energy according to Einsteins equation E = mc^2 so i suppose dark matter could be equal to dark energy?

I am not so sure that the properties of normal matter really apply to dark matter, since dark matter doesn't even seem to form atoms or any of the things normal matter does. We'd have to see if dark matter particles also had the wave-particle duality, but first we need to find the dark matter particles.

Wait, I think I might have some next to my Left-Handed Smoke Shifter.
