According to the map of Ferelden, the length from Orzammar to the Circle tower is 162 mile. There and back would be 324. 324/18 = 18 miles per day.

Whoopie, she was right...

Who was right? About what?

Your response seems vaguely hostile and I'm not sure what prompted it.

You still haven't answered his question.

I'm not sure what the original poster is referring to. If there's a plot 'time limit' to traveling the Deep Roads, I've forgotten it, which suggests it didn't strike me as important at the time.

Dagna was the one who said it took two weeks, four days to get to the tower. He never mention a plot time limit, he was refering to a plot hole in the game where it takes two days travel to Thaigs and back. Although I do wonder why you found it important to prove that it could take 2 weeks and 4 days to travel that distance, and not figure out the disantce between Thaigs and Orzammar.

Actually, that one day IS crossing the lake. I don't know why the map animation is going AROUND it.

Makes more sense but begs the question, how big is that lake and how slow is our boat.

Don't forget the 'Queen of Antiva' is working on the docks at the lake

Its probably best to ignore all descriptions of time with regards to actual game mechanics. I mean, the game takes place over a year or so, but if you almost finish a quest and then run across the map and head back it acts as if nothing happened in the meantime, even though it should feasibly have been a month or so. The only two events when this seems to matter are Redcliffe Village pre-night attack and the Circle Tower (since you can't actually leave). A good example is that when Eamon calls the Landsmeet, you can enter the building, kill Ser Cauthrien, then turn aroudn and run around the mpa doing quests for what (travel time-wise) is probably 2-3 months at best, and everyone's still waiting in the chamber for you to arrive.

Mass Effect 2 actually has an interesting take on the whole 'quest-time' thing in the very, very late game. But to say anything more would be a spoiler for it.

I don't recall it saying anywhere that the map is to scale- redcliffe castle is a fair inch away from the village, the lower ruins are quite some distance from the upper elven ruins etc.

This is across the board, places right next to a location you go to are marked as a fair ways off probably to avoid issues with travelling when using the map.

Besides, if you want to nitpick, the event with Morrigan which is supposed to be done on the "eve of battle" can't possibly be the night before as you have to race halfway across the map to denerim.

I don't see how something as trivial as travel times can be moaned about in a piece of work written by a host of people, give some room for human error, they're writers not the gods of accountancy.

Each 'area transition' in the deep roads is actually a warp gate that moves you to the next location but also back in time to the point that you entered the current location.

If you repeat an area and proceed through the area quickly enough, you can see your original party departing just as you enter the room. Be ready to use cone of cold on them, and you can actually prevent them from going through the 'area transition' in the first place - thus causing all of the darkspawn you killed to respawn.

I actually like this one. Lmao. Kudos to you, Dude.
