does this game update itself or do I need to download the update everytime I redownload the game?  Thanks!

If you're talking about patches, you have to manually install them yourself if you, say, reinstall the game. However, you should note that you need only download the latest patch; patches are cumulative in the sense that newer patches contain the hotfixes and the like from the previous patches.

hmm ok thanks. I wonder if that is why the bandit fight I had right after I reinstalled it was so hard hmm...
