Whichever BioWare developer decided to make Insanity THIS F***KING difficult needs to be kicked in the daddy bags.

The game is not fun at this difficulty... at all. In fact it's downright aggravating. I played my first go through on Veteran and I thought it was a good challenge, I enjoyed it. But Insanity is simple ridiculous and sucks all the fun out of the game completely.

Enemies swarm you much too fast, cooldowns are too slow, and the G*ddamn Krogan and Vorcha with their regeneration are just a nightmare.

I got through recruiting four members of the team, but I'm going to stop now, because dying 25 times in every single combat is no longer fun, it's tedious, frustrating, and totally unnecessary..

Now the fanbois may take over the thread to brag about how they beat insanity without ever dying on a broken controller with one hand...

-----------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:  I finally got through it. Thanks to everyone for their constructive and unconstructive criticism alike. I stuck with it, and after re-specing and taking Barrier as my special ability I was able to get through. It got easier as the game went on and I was able to get better upgrades, but the first 4 recruits were really friggin difficult.

Anyway thanks to everyone, glad I could bring a lively thread to this forum :wizard:

It's obviously not impossible. Loads of people have done it and with every class. Turn it down to Hardcore if it's too hard for you.

How can you complain about the higest difficulty level being too hard for you? You realise there are lower difficulty levels? I won't call you an idiot but that's major QQ right there.

Thanks for being the first ****ing moron to reply. Seeing as how you lack reading comprehension skills, I'll point out again where I said I beat the game already on veteran, douchebag.

Nice community you have here BioWare, you must be very proud.

Well if you beat it on veteran and can't beat it on insanity it means you've reached your limit. Some people's limit are higher than yours... such is life.. move on.

Well, some classes have a lil harder time on Insanity than others.

Are you going for the Insane-Achievement?

If you beat it on Veteran, why don't you try out Hardcore first? They even recommend that in the difficulty setting info. Playing it on hardcore should ease you into insanity when you do decide to play it.

I beat Insanity with a broken controller, a broken Xbox, no hands, I just smashed my face on the disk until I won.

Wow, RicAlmighty - you're doing a pretty good job rallying people to your cause.

You realize there is a difficulty setting between Veteran and Insanity, right?

RicAlmighty,

Lots of people have beat it on impossible, so it's clearly quite possible. I don't like bashing people online, but when you make a post that's as confrontational as yours, expect people to object.

You were rude, sarcastic, and you implied that anyone who did beat the game on impossible is a "fanboi". Are you really surprised that people did not like what you wrote?

Without sounding rude, I completely disagree. I found Mass Effect 2 on insanity to be one of the easiest "highest difficulties" I've played in a long time. I basically breezed through every fight without a hitch. I was surprised by the number of topics and such (at GameFaqs) where people are asking help on the "Collector Ship." The first thing I thought was: "The first time or second time? Because both were incredibly easy."

at first if you are used to normal or even veteran, insanity can feel insane, but it gets easy once you get used to it. just stay behind cover, never try to advance until all enemies are dead, inf anything, retreat, and never attack out in the open. also, hide squadmates behind cover, in a place where they can't expose themselves (they also can't shoot) until the enemies are close to you, and use their powers on the enemies you can see.

trust me, it's really, really easy as long as you're smart and learn to use heavy weapon ammo, medi-gel, and ammo wisely.

Too many new school gamers used to games taking them by the hand during the whole walkthrough. I'm glad Bioware made a difficulty setting that makes them QQ. It brings me joy.

I rather enjoy insanity, it makes things like the swarms of husks actually feel overwhelming which is how i imagine they are meant to feel.

Also i like how Harbinger immediately assumes control of the next drone if you take him out rather than waiting.

You have to think a bit more too, prioritize targets, keep exit/escape positions in mind, watch for flankers with shotguns/flamers and all that too. Makes for a more enjoyable game imo. (of course there are people that prefer to do ME: 10 pin bowling with lines of bad guys and a maxed out shockwave, thats their choice/opinion to like that)

This guy is either a troll or stupid, either way is in the vocal minority and I like how bioware has handled such people over the years, they haven't pandered to the loud people as much as most game companys, they seem to have a better handle on the community climate than RicAlmighty does.

Am I the only one who appreciates the irony of him complaining that the INSANITY difficulty is too hard?
