I'm sorry but Insanity is simply impossible. (finally got past it)

It's frustrating as heck, but doable. I'm in the middle of my first wave of recruitment before meeting the Collectors, and so far, the worst thing for me is fighting time limits. Way to hang out by the same window as rockets keep giving you splash damage, Garrus. That part would have been much, much easier if you could at least tell him where to stand. But everything else is more or less, kill shields and armour, utilize squad powers, stop enemy regen, and slowly chip away at it.

Perfectly said Gaudion! I gotta steal this line for all future discussions on this.

Insanity is tough at the start for a new game sentinel. You only have a heavy pistol and burst fire smg. Warp ammo is good but not against vorcha. Mordin's mission is really very difficult. Its only really doable with Jacob for his incendiary ammo (to stop the health regen). Playing as a new sentinel makes using the sniper as a soldier/infiltrator seem like a joke. You only have a few powers. I have been using overload and throw. I dont have warp yet which is a bit of a problem. I also have zaeed but I might have been better off with miranda to use warp against armor. I think if I perservere my character will become more and more powerful and start to kick butt. Right now the only thing keeping me a alive is level 2 techarmor which at least gives me enough protection to fire off a few smg bursts and do some damage. Insanity is a lot harder without adrenaline rush and combat cloak which makes it almost cheap to get the kills.

Whichever BioWare developer decided to make Insanity THIS F***KING difficult needs to be kicked in the daddy bags.

The game is not fun at this difficulty... at all. In fact it's downright aggravating. I played my first go through on Veteran and I thought it was a good challenge, I enjoyed it. But Insanity is simple ridiculous and sucks all the fun out of the game completely.

Enemies swarm you much too fast, cooldowns are too slow, and the G*ddamn Krogan and Vorcha with their regeneration are just a nightmare.

I got through recruiting four members of the team, but I'm going to stop now, because dying 25 times in every single combat is no longer fun, it's tedious, frustrating, and totally unnecessary.

Congratulations BioWare, you just succeeded in making me not want to play your game anymore. Well done.

Now the fanbois may take over the thread to brag about how they beat insanity without ever dying on a broken controller with one hand...

I think there is a simple solution to your problem, if you find the game too hard on insanity and thus no fun to play then dont play the game on insanity. Seriously its the reason that games allow you to change the difficulty setting, it is so that the game can cater to different skill levels.

Why do you need to play on insanity anyway? Why does insanity being too hard make you not want to play? Seriously just because you cant play a game on the the highest difficulty doesnt make the game not worth playing, it is the reason that games have different difficulty settings so that people who arent very good at video games can still enjoy them.

No lies there. Insanity pretty often just destroys you due to bad luck. However, if you DO win, you win because you were flawless. If you can stomach that sort of challenge, it's fun. The trick is to position your squadmates behind cover in areas where few enemies will have line of sight on them, but they can still employ their powers on most of the battlefield. I can have Miranda stashed away where no enemy is ever going to get to her spamming Warp and shred enemies if I'm careful. Just beat Horizon, the final firefight at the generators for the GARDIAN arrays took me 3 tries and the Praetorian took me 4 tries because my squadmates kept running under him and getting one-shotted, and his melee attack apparently restores his barrier just to spite me.

Apparently insanity is easier to live than to play, for one person at least...

I am playing the game, currently, on Hardcore and just before the reaper IFF (3rd play through btw, started normal->veteran->HC).

If I can complete Hardcore as a Vanguard, you should be fine as just about anything else (Vanguard is rough!)

I find hardcore to be the most "fun" difficulty for me. Insanity...not so much.

No sense complaining about it being too hard though bud.

People enjoy it, people can beat it without undue effort, that's all that matters, that makes it fun for some.

You don't like it? That's fine. That's why you have like four other difficulties you can rock.

Won't lie, I'm probably going to pop open a bottle of something stiff when I do get through Insane. It's one of those gaming milestones that you do once, you want to forget the mental anguish of getting there.

I found insanity to be very manageable, not a setting I foresee myself playing again anytime soon but not something completely unforgiving.

if it were not possible then people would not have already done it. thousands of people have already successfully beaten ME2 on insanity with across all classes. i would suggest looking up tips and strategies for success before posting complaint threads.

Are you kidding me? insane is incredibly easy. I was dissapointed they did not make it harder or add another difficulty.
In insane you use a cool thing called tactics. You have to be smart to win, tell teamates where to go and what powers to use etc. The only frusterating part was the collector missions, and that was only due to the new foreign combat system. I finished my first and second playthroughs on insane, and the second time I never had any trouble or got stuck once.

You just cannot go out of cover guns blazing in this difficulty, if you think as you play, you will win. This is why I liked Dragon Age Nightmare difficulty, it took alot of strategy and was extremly rewarding to finish

Insanity is not impossible but it isn't fun at all. I'd rather have something more akin to DMC4's Legendary Dark Knight mode where the enemies are of normal difficulty but they overwhelm you in terms of the huge number of enemies on screen.

No one's stopping you from turning down the gameplay. Husks overwhelm you all the time no matter what difficulty your on

Playing on insanity requires you do everything right, not make mistakes and maximizing the effectiveness of the class, weapons, powers, and team mates. If you're finding it really hair-pulling frustrating it's likely because there's a lot you can improve on. (Though I think vanguard and adept may have a harder time than other classes, can someone confirm this?)

I played as an Adept my first time through and it did have tough spots, but  nothing actually made me curse at the game except for when the last boss had about three rounds left to die, and a collector literally landed on me.

My last run was as an inflitrator and it was painfully easy. I dont know if it was the class or I just learned more from my first playthrough

dont dare bash bioware for trying to give a challenging option in gameplay

Thanks for being the first ****ing moron to reply. Seeing as how you lack reading comprehension skills, I'll point out again where I said I beat the game already on veteran, douchebag.

Nice community you have here BioWare, you must be very proud.

What exactly was wrong with his statement? You can't hack it on insanity, he told you to turn the difficulty down. So you beat it on veteran? try hardcore.

Another thing, you came to these boards and have the nerve to bash the community. Where do you get the idea that we want to entertain the thought that you can't complete a single player game?

I don't know what you expected by making this thread, if you need game help ask for it, there are plenty of class imbalance issues that we could all have an intelligent discussion on, in the other forums.

the husks never got to me, it was the grunts in the start of the game on insanity
