I like Grunt. He's also very useful on Tali's recruitment mission, since he doesn't have shields that could get eaten up by the sun.

He's a favorite of mine but...Idk, his dialogue just seems to stop so suddenly. It feels like they had more and just cropped it short. His backstory and personality are great.

I loved Grunt. Wrex was kind of a meh for me in the first game, but I like how he developed in the sequel. Grunt was funny, pretty badass, and utterly adorable. My little adopted baby krogan. I want a Grunt plushy.

True stuff. For a Krogan, Grunt is pretty "cute".

I think they did really well differentiating Grunt from Wrex. I didn't have high hopes for Grunt after seeing his introduction trailer, but if you talk to him after every mission, you find this well spoken, confused young Krogan. He's like every human adolescent who feels lost about his purpose in this vast universe. And he has this... enthusiastic energy with his speech and mannerisms. Wrex has seen it all and not surprised by much, but Grunt sees with fresh eyes. His eagerness to see Jack's destruction of Purgatory, his proclaimation that Shepherd is a Battlemaster with no equal, his slight laughter as he discovers his hatred of Turians. He is a happy Krogan. How can you not love a happy Krogan?

Grunt's funny:

I'd never stab you in the back Shepard. Warriors like you and me; straight to the face

Jack is small.

We should get behind... stuff.

Some of my favorite Grunt quotes

"If I know Grunt, your answer is coming at muzzle velocity"

"You do know Grunt! This varren is dead!"

"This is why I follow you Shepard, big things!"

"Move! I want to see how long she can last!"

And though not quite a Grunt quote, I love it when Shep says

"Grunt will strengthen Clan Urdnot, name our target, it will die!"

Grunt's overcool. He is the big raw power in the team. Not so complex as the other. Simple problems, simple solutions and a loot of fun with him.

I love Grunt and I like his growth if you keep talking to him on the ship. I love when he calls Shep Battle master. Wrex was a main team member in ME1 so I was very happy to find that I liked my new Krogan team mate as well.

Grunt is fun. Though I have a habit of accidentally calling him "Wrex".

"See? Now we're having fun! Me remembering good battles and you... doing that funny human thing you're doing!"

"*cough* I don't get sick."

"Jack is small."

"Good bunch if they stay out of my way. Dead bunch if they don't."

"I... am... KROGAN!"

I kinda liked him.

At least he was a lot better than Samara, I couldn't stand talking to her...

No I felt he lacked development as well. He was pretty straight forward. Even Jacob had more to talk about. I wrote a topic before about how I would've liked to see The Patriarch as a squadmate instead, but I still like Grunt. He just wasn't deep at all.

That's the point though isn't it he is essentially a new born baby with some tank fed memories, his not a character with a complex past because he doesn't have a past. I think this is part of what makes him interesting. Or possibley her, how do you tell the sex of a Krogan?

Well Shepard is the first character he met after comming out of the tank. Also he refers to you as his battlemaster, wich basicly means that you are teaching him to deal with stuff.

Would be cool if they made it so that in ME3 Grunt would apear diffrently if you where either paragon or renegade in ME 2for example he will be a reckless Krogan that charges in to battle blindly and is quick to shoot ppl if your played mainly rennegade. But when you whent paragon he is more controlled, tactical and relaxed (well for krogan standards).

Would make sense seeing how shepard is Showing him whats what.

But even in ME 2 i think that Grunt is a great character because of his simplicity, it just wouldnt make sense if you started questioning 'the meaning of live'  right after getting out of a tank.

I also didn't like Grunt very much, he never intrigued me, and like you said, just felt like a "run off the mill" Krogan but "omg,' perfect!

Mass Effect 2 really dropped the bomb on Grunt.  I felt that a funny character like Mordin was awesome.  Of course, I would prefer somebody awesome like Kirrahe, but Mordin was this nice little "I can shoot you or heal you."  Good character.

Grunt was just some tank-bred that acted inbred.  "I  WANT TO KILL."  I mean, there is nothing to go with that.  He just likes to kill stuff, and that's dumb (as is he).

I liked Wrex and I really wish we could recruit Okeer in this game.  They both had views on the world.  Wrex was a merc but as he said, he joined Shepard to fight for a real cause.  He also had a vision for the krogan, to cure the genophage and make his species strong again.

Okeer was also very cool.  He felt that numbers meant nothing and that the genophage was okay.  As long as krogan would be trained to fight well they could become strong again.

I really like Grunt, I always take him on missions with me but I can understand what the OP is saying, I feel all the characters could do with more dialogue and fleshed out a bit more but I think that the problem with having so many characters.

I said this in another post but I'll add it here to illustrate how awsome he is.

I was doing Zaeeds loyalty mission on insanity, 2 mercs and a pyro guy come at me so I run off round the corner, Garrus followed me but Grunt stayed. A few seconds later I peek round the corner to find all the mercs dead and Grunt just standing there. if you like him or not that Krogan knows how to fight and has saved my ass more times than I can count.

I do. Guy's more complex because he doesn't know anything about his memories or what his purpose is. That's why his subquest is to go to Tutchanka and investigate his own puberty ritual. Grunt is also the most loyal party member to Shepard, even more so then Wrex since he defends Shepard's honor on very many occasions rather then his own.

Agreed.

At first Grunt looked like a Wrex replacement, but he's quite unique himself. he also teaches you more about the krogan people and traditions.

I enjoyed Grunt. I like his sense of humor and I found his path toward discovering who he really is to be interesting. I still love Wrex though.

We need to be able to have both Wrex and Grunt in our squads for ME 3 for the ultimate krogasmic experience.

Did you even talk to him?

Grunt actually was much more interesting than I thought he would be.  He knows he wants to kill, but he is very frustrated because he wants a reason.  He wants to find his place in the galaxy, and he doesn't just want to go along with what Okeer wanted.  He's pretty confused, you can help him find his way.

And besides after his loyalty mission he said "Shepard is my Battlemaster, he has no equal!" ^_^
