Grunt is basically a representation of the Krogan race as a whole. Fierce warriors who have no purpose. Grunt lacks a purpose but you give it to him and hopefully Grunt can give his people a reason to fight.

I know it's been said. A lot. But it has to be said again.

"Shepard is my Battlemaster. She has no equal."

It was the most awesome line on Tuchanka after "Shepard! My friend!"

I like the guy, he's just clueless of his surroundings and how he's supposed to behave as a krogan. His loyalty mission was one of my favorites. I felt krogan, just killing stuff.

Grunt is one of the only pure combat squaddies (i.e. no tech, no biotics) and I love having him on the team to deal with close combat situations. I also enjoy the story regarding his Rites and acceptance as a "real" Krogan. I thought it was well-done and a logical riff following the genophage ...

It also wouldn't suprise me if ME3 has him ending up becoming Wrex's heir for leading the Krogan and his coming to terms with the weight of having to become a leader of his people.

Or better yet when you talked to Wrex about being spaced. Image IPB

underdeveloped is grunt's thing. he has no experience of his own, just imprints from a tank (why wasnt the rite a part of imprints anyway? youd think okeer would know how important that is).

i cant wait to see grunt's role in ME3; i wanna see what okeer's plan for him was, how exactly he's the future of the krogan race; and how the pure krogan will develop as a character beyond being the guy who cant say "you think i was born yesterday" sarcastically.

Grunt is krogan. I'm pretty sure that is all the depth he needs. Waaaaaaay too many haters 'round these parts.

He had me the first time he said "Uvenk".

Comparing Grunt to Wrex is not even fair to begin with, is like comparing a baby with a 1000 years old in the experience area, you have to look at Grunt with the right mindset, he was designed to be a fresh newborn character who you help in his first steps at life if he was a rugged mercenary we'd have Wrex all over again.

I decided in my last play through to recruit Grunt first. I was treated to a new quote at the corpse burning site in the Omega slums "Anyone Hungry? No?"

Also, I found that Grunt is critical for the Hold the line scenario in the end game. I took Grunt with me to the human Reaper, and I ended up losing a team mate holding the line. While I know there are many combinations to this, I was happy to know that he does make a difference in those cut scene scenarios (as opposed to say, Mordin).

He also asks if anyone is hungry on the derelict reaper. Adolescent krogan need their meals.

Grunt! Is! Hungryyyyyyyy!

Grunt is an interesting counterpoint to Wrex because whereas Wrex was a very different Krogan from those you normally encountered in the world, Grunt is the exact opposite. He is genetically everything that a Krogan should be.

I think Grunt provides very good insight into the Krogan race personally.

My favorite Grunt line is if you bring him to Haestrom.

Your other party member will say something about how the star's radiation eats through shields. Grunt responds with "Then we'll fight in the shade!"

If you have Garrus at this time as well, he'll comment that krogan have enough bad reputation and Grunt might want to save such opinions to himself ;)

And yeah, I like Grunt too. For many reasons already voiced in posts above.

"Then we'll fight in the shade! But no hiding!"

Second half of quote was missing :)

He also says "This is why I follow you Shepard! Big Things!" in reference to the Colossus.

Also on Ilium, in Samara recruitment mission, if you tell the detective that she should not follow orders and arrest Samara, your two team mates will say "We will have to remember that the next time you put us up against Impossible odds, how often is that?", and the other will say "At least twice a week". But if its Grunt he will say "Not often enough"

I like Grunt but I admit I liked Wrex a lot more. It was some tough shoes to fill being a krogan and following Wrex. Grunt also has some of the best one liners in the game.

I respect you Shepard and would never stab you in the back warriors like us its straight to the face......kidding.

I didn't get to develop a deep relationship with Wrex and assumed Krogans were cranky and stubborn. I was not Pro-Krogan on my ship at first when recruiting Okeer. I began talking with Grunt and when he scared me about smashing his head on the mirror, I took him to Tuchanka. All the culture of their species was fascinating. We really bonded earning him the title of Urdnot. However, Samara dropped the biotic field and even though he was loyal was taken away by the seeker swarms. Rest in Peace Grunt.

Grunt is a favorite of mine. I think because he is tank-bred and essentially less than 1 year old, he has a lot of identity-building to do. BUt I also think his character's progression in trying to learn what it means to be Krogan is great. I think Grunt's loyalty mission is severely underappreciated. Think about how much of the Krogan culture we get to see being Grunt's krant during his Rite of Passage. It is an extremely intimate perspective that very few non-krogans ever get to see.

All in all, I am a huge Wrex fan and was very skeptical of Grunt but both Grunt and Wrex were exceptional well done in ME2. I loved watching them both on screen, that was great.
