I did, though I guess it was more common sense than luck.

I had no idea you could lose squad members so easily. I read that you could easily lose Mordin if you don't pick him to bring the Normandy crew back (picked Jacob instead), but he magically survived in my game.

And I knew I couldn't go wrong having Garrus lead the other teams.

I survived with 0 casualties.

And yes, I've been hearing that Mordin dies quite easily. Luckily, I decided that by being expert on alien biology, Mordin could potentially help diagnose and treat the survivors if they suffered any ill effects from being on the Collector ship.

I kept everyone alive on my first playthrough. Was very happy not to lose any crew or squad members.

saved my entire team and crew, and kept loyalty with everyone but miranda. didn't have enough paragon/renegade points to solve miranda/jack conflict peacefully :(

Only Garrus died for me. Big mistake choosing him to open the doors and having Samara as leader of second squad.

Exactly the same as you (well, Thane instead of Jacob for escort) - glad Mordin didn't randomly die, but I had multiple saves just in case. Glad I got it done the first time though.

*Raises Hand with pride.

No one died in my first play through.

Who would use any one but Legion,Tali, Miranda,Garus,Samara, and Jack for the end is a mystery for me.

I got everybody through on my first run. Garrus as leader makes the most sense, especially with the team he commanded on Omega. I let Legion get the doors, because frankly I cared less about him than Tali, so if he had died it wouldn't have mattered. I sent Mordin back as escort because I assumed he would be less valuable in the final firefight than any other team member.

Bah! I lost Legion as the Tech specialist (he was loyal), Zaeed as team leader second time (just look at his face and tell me he doesn't know what he's doin in a fight?) and Thane got hit by the swarm which seemed random. I didn't realize you could save the whole team, would've been nice. All in all though I liked Zaeed but he did die a warriors death, Thane was dieing anyways and Legion...Well I'm not ready to be all friendly with the Geth. Perhaps a few deaths in that mission added to the whole gravity of the story, gave it a littl more meaning. When I replay though I will try and save everyone.

I would have to say "yes and no". My very first time, Mordin died when I sent him to defend the gate with everyone else. Then I just simply reloaded my game and took Mordin with me and everybody survived.

My renegade wasnt good enough to keep both Tali and Legions loyalty... lost Legions.

So Legion and Garrus bit the dust... =[

Crew and companions all intact. I was determined to make sure everyone was loyal so that they'd survive.

I lost Legion, Grunt, and Mordin. The weird thing was everyone in my party was loyal to me and I had more casuaties than other players here on the forums. That was on my honest play through of the final mission, and I'm not going back to change it so that everyone survives. I am going into ME3 with the team I have now. For me anyway, I find that more dramatic.

My fault was that I was too liberal on the Paragon Interupt and that negatively detracted from my Renegade score.

I lost the normandy crew, didn't want to jeopardize the mission by going a man down. It's bullocks that you just happen to stumble across them anyway given the size of that damn ship.

some of the decisions people made on squad leaders/specialists etc leaves me dumbfounded

My whole team survived... just made sure everyone was loyal and made logical choices in the end. Can't say I wasn't worried about losing a squad member or two, though...

Yo!

Not a single squad member death on my first play-through. I had renegade points to spare to mediate the two inter-party disputes. I also took Mordin with me into the final stretch (I had me and Grunt to deal with shields/barriers and health and brought Mordin to deal with armor).

I did lose half the NPC crew I suppose for taking a little extra time to make sure I was ready (had 2 loyalty missions left when they were captured, Jack and Legion). I don't think that matters for what you meant, though. And hey, Chakwas, Joker, and Scotty all survived so it's all good in my book!

I lost jack to a swarm - loyal, but had to choose against her in the catfight, tali on the door and samara, loyal, no reservations I was aware of, as the fireteam leader :-(

you can get his loyalty even if you save the workers, I can't recall if it requires a persuasion option but it's definitely possible
