First playthrough Tali died... must admit that I slacked on finding and applying upgrades, so entirely my fault! D:

Besides one of my friends who asked for help on the final mission, I was the only person on my friends list who managed to save everyone on my first playthrough, makes me feel awesome.

I'm not sure if it's luck or what, but I manage to get all my squadmates out alive on my 1st playthrough. I feel that if you wanna get every1 out alive you gotta get every1's loyalty up, get the right person to do the right job and everything should turn out fine.

Don't forget the upgrades as well, if you don't have them then the Normandy's hull is often breached and squadmates inside are killed, I haven't met anyone stupid enough to not upgrade the Normandy yet though.

Everyone survived my first playthrough. Being the completionist I am, this was no surprise, but still enjoyable.

My second playthrough however went differently. I upgraded all SR2's equipment, gained the loyalty of my whole crew and upgraded all their weapons and equipment to its fullest. Still, if I put Mordin in the tubes instead of anyone else, he dies when it's time to close the door immediately after the tubes. This infuriated me and I stopped playing.

I will not start a third playthrough until they've patched the bugs (above mentioned, Conrad Verner, weapons upgrades no longer being in your inventory once you get back to the Normandy, getting stuck on walls, etc.)

Mordin is a biologist, not a techy, he died because you gave him the wrong job.

Yes and no for me, too. I chose Samara to lead the first splinter group and, as a result, Legion got popped in the "face" as the doors were closing. Re-loading an earlier saved game and chosing Miranda to lead kept everyone alive. Stayed with Miranda for the second team, chose Samara as the biotic specialist and sent Jacob back with the Normandy crew and everyone survived.

I got everyone out alive on my first run through, no problem. A bit of a disapointment really considering it was hyped as a suicide mission.

From what I understand the only ways they will die is:
-You don’t do their loyalty mission.
-You don’t upgrade your ship
-You cant reach those switches in time.
-For your abducted crew, you waited to long to rescue them.

For me this is a really lame set up with the exception of the last one. Your given choices on who goes on what mission but the main way the game kills someone off is if you didn’t do their loyalty mission? Yea, makes sense to me. Without their closure on that mission they are not as strong as when you recruited them? I expected at least a few choices like on Virmire where you had to make the hard choice of someone getting killed. I mean my fish had a lesser chance of surviving this mission and they weren’t involved in any fighting.

I managed to keep everyone alive. Was a couple of cut scenes however I almost peed myself where I was thinking they were going to die. Must of been two or three times I was yelling "NO! NO! NO!....phew".

People can die for another's mistake. I'm assuming you assigned Legion to enter the vents. You probably chose the wrong person to lead the fireteam. Who did you assign?

Think it was Zaeed, makes sense he's a gun for hire not really a leader. Thanks for clearing that up for me :)

I would have to say "yes and no". My very first time, Mordin died when I sent him to defend the gate with everyone else. Then I just simply reloaded my game and took Mordin with me and everybody survived.

Happened to me too, I was thinking WTF? when i saw him dead on the floor after the human reaper fight then reloaded and took him with me and everybody survived. :)

I did. No guides or anything, choosing members was easy, as I saw if there was description when you have to select them = good one. Had all of them loyal as I tend to be completionist :)

As I was going with zaeed+miranda, I had 2 officers to spare :D Anyway something weird happened to, in one of the transitions between zones, a video showed Garrus being shooted on his stomach, but nothing happened lol, I was scared

Not me, after a couple of tries Jack was the only one that died (probably because I sided with Miranda in their fight.)

But since I'm doing a new game+ I hope to change that.

Nobody died in my first playthrough, not even the sub-crew (dr. chakwas, kelly, ec.)

Wasn't even hard, just use common sense for the team choices.

I had Zaeed as leader of first squad, Miranda as leader of second squad, Jacob as escort, Jack as biotic, and Legion as tech. Legion didn't make it. :(((((((((((((

Nobody died on my playthrough though on my second Thane went into the vent and died at the end. Lesson learned that only Legion and Tali can survive it.
