Don't get me wrong, i am not saying she is ugly in any way! I just think she is very plain looking - like 99% of the models who we see in every form of media. Of course beauty is largely subjective, but there is an actual measurable correlation between symmetry and how the 'average' person judges beauty. And that is exactly the reason why most female game characters all have that certain 'look' about them - beacuse they appeal to a mass audience in the same way models do.

Personally it's not very appealing to me, i much prefer to see diversity, like when you take a walk down the street women all look so very different, and variety is the spice of life!

Samara has far and away the best looking face. Defined jaw, cheekbones, etc. You know, features that models and moviestars have.

Massive jaws just DON'T translate well to a woman's face, those are actually manish features. I completely agree with the op, I've always disliked Samara, and I stand by my point that Liara is based of the best model in the game and that she is pretty accurately rendered.

I find more attractive some random asari NPCs than Liara/Samara/Morinth. The eclipse leader in Samara's recruiting mission > than every asari companions in both ME1 and 2

I agree. I think Samara and Morinth are the most beautiful.

Liara is at the bottom of the pack, she's really unattractive.

How can she be unattractive? I think hers is the best model used for the game, only Yvonne Strahovski comes close, and of course Mark Vanderloo if you want to count him.


Strange, i don't think Liara looks anything like that woman - i don't think she is particularly attractive either.

You might have a hard time seeing it because of the long hair and the obvious fact that she isn't blue, but the facial features are definitely there. Only her lips might be a little bit pouty in that picture, but other than that they look very much the same.

Liara is ugly, looks nothing like gillian.

It depends obviously, Angelina Jole pulls it off.

But then again I prefer females with smaller jaws, a la catherine bell :wub:

That's who Liara is modeled on? I don't see that at all. I never thought Liara actually had a model because her proportions look more cartoonish (than say, Ashley or Miranda's) in attempt to make her look prettier; for example, her eyes look bigger than they should be.

Those pictures are hardly relevant since in one Jillian is smiling and actually posing for a picture while Liara has a serious expression in the second one. Then you should also consider the fact that it's a video game and that the tech is simply too limited to allow for a 100% accurately rendered real life model, it's juts like Yvonne Strahovski and Miranda's case. Miranda also has some weird angles and moments, and I'm not even going to mention Venderloo Shepard and his ridiculously cheesy grin.

The resemblence between the chick in Chuck and Miranda, I see huge similiarities.

Well of course it's easier to see the similarities in Miranda's case since she also has long hair and isn't blue. But she does have weird moments.

P.S. And I do find Ashley to be very unattractive with her big nose, lazy eye and overall just plain old gypsy features. So opinions can very a lot, just leave it at that.

Yes, defined facial features (including jaw and cheekbones) are pretty. However, on Morinth and especially Samara, those are taken to a level of hilarious exaggeration. It's just too much.

Anyway, I always thought, Liara was modeled after her voice  actress as well, Ali Hills?

 If people find them ugly, then they are doing their job, which is partially to prove that not all asari are meant to be LI fanservice.  Believe it or not there are asari out there who *gasp* don't want to screw you.  And I don't find them ugly.  I don't find them attractive either, but I do think they are very cool looking.  They look more like aliens than just blue humans.  I like the scales on their scalps especially.

Samara is gorgeous...those eyes...

But, ultimatly are going purely of looks or adding personality? Take into account Samara's personality, and hse is stunning. The voice is also great.

Aria, while maybe the best 'looking' Asari, is a **** and so isnt 'beautiful' to me, all very well having looks if the personality isnt there.

Liara is very attractive too, but again her personality goes a long way to making her 'attractive'....purely looks alone then no she isnt particulary good looking by Asari standards.

Shiala is also very attractive, and along with that, she is an intiguing character which adds to her attractiveness imo.

I think Samara and Morinth are beautiful characters. I actually have yet to see an ugly asari in all of ME1 and ME2.
