I think we've all gotten the impression that A) not all party members will return, and
Oghren is probably the only original party member who will rejoin your mission. My main concern is the issue of carry-over; assuming Oghren leaves and then rejoins you (i.e. he pulls a Tali/Garrus) with the expansion, will he still be decked out in the same gear as I left him with?

The person returning from Origins does not have the same equipment they had from Origins. They have some good starting gear, though. Perhaps they sold their old stuff for some cool My Little Pony figurines or something. We'll probably never know.

Veridium, sheesh, luxury. They start off with rusted bronze armor and a salad fork. Now that's hard core.

Anybody that says I don't have a sense of humor hasn't met me. Now, whether I have a good sense of humor is highly debatable.

You keep all your stats, specializations, and talents. You really are returning as you - gear, training, level, and whatever personal quirks you imagine your character might have (I like to imagine my character breaking out into the "Spam" song when no one is looking).

Not to be nitpicky, but I do love me some nits. Anyways, it was stated earlier that we WOULD NOT have our equipment, meaning that we, you know, wouldn't be wearing the equipment we had at the end of origins. Unless you are saying we are keeping the stuff in our inventory but loosing the stuff we are wearing, which, you know, is kinda retarded (yes, I said it).
I completely agree with losing some or all your eq, but of course you would keeping your stats and talents. I mean, if it is years past then you would have changed your clothes at least once, retired gear, realized that you don't need the all powerful metorite sword for traveling from village to village and such.
Hmm... Don't know which quote implied you wouldn't have your equipped gear in Awakening. You keep your old gear with you - if it's equipped or in your inventory - it doesn't matter.

Ahh, yes, "The person returning from Origins" was a rephrase of the "returning favorite" NPC. That NPC does, in fact, have different gear. But the PC still has the same gear from Origins.
