I think we've all gotten the impression that A) not all party members will return, and B) Oghren is probably the only original party member who will rejoin your mission. My main concern is the issue of carry-over; assuming Oghren leaves and then rejoins you (i.e. he pulls a Tali/Garrus) with the expansion, will he still be decked out in the same gear as I left him with?

Oghren, I swear, if you throw away or sell that starmetal greatsword I so graciously forged just for you, I will KILL YOU!!!

That doesn't answer my question. Yes, I know that the party chest won't carry over unless you load everything into your inventory. My question is about gear that is actually equipped by party members.

I should've posted what Ferret said.

He basically said: "quote' There's technical reasons why we couldn't grab the party story chest from Warden's Keep. But since you can dump all of your goodies into your inventory save then import that save, you can still bring all your goodies into Awakening."/quote"

Thus if you don't have all of your items in your inventory, it will be deleted unless you sell it.

Get it?

That's not how I read it. "We can't carry over the party chest, but if you gather it all up into your inventory, it will carry over." There is NOWHERE in that quote that pertains to equipment assigned to party members besides the Player Character.

I don't know it is but there is a post by one of the devs that says, you will not be able to carry over the equipment thats not in your current in inventory from the save you load up into Awakening. (including anything in your party storage chest and fellow party members).

Shame, I was kind of hoping they would expand on WK in the expansion, the expansion takes place in the same part of Feralden as the keep, yes? Would be a good excuse to go back and flesh it out as more of a base of operations.

I'm sorry, but I can't believe what you're saying if you just assert the same post over and over, and then state "I can't remember where" when said source doesn't state it outright.

Why don't we let the actual developers answer instead, hmm?

Well, if we consider that Oghren REALLY comes back, and if we consider the fact he's wearing the Legion of the Dead armor, my guess is that he WILL be wearing his old stuff. I surely hope we don't get him with a Grey Iron chain mail.

I was actually really surprised that equipment would carry over.

Why so? Because in SoA and HotU you lose everything?

The person returning from Origins does not have the same equipment they had from Origins. They have some good starting gear, though. Perhaps they sold their old stuff for some cool My Little Pony figurines or something. We'll probably never know.

OMG! Figurines! It's Alistair!

(JUST KIDDING; I assume no such thing.)

They probably pissed it away on beer.

Well there was that sale in Denerim......and they didn't realise there was a talking darkspawn at the time, also the figurines looked cute at the time along with that 12 barrels of ale

But it kinda makes sense getting new stuff then carrying all that old stuff, I mean would you really want you whole inventory imported?

good to know character inventory will carry over, just dumpe everything off companions in the end game file sell everything you never use, carry over most important weapons armour, all good.

Veridium Scale Mail, 2 Iron Daggers and a silver ring? Yeah, I suspected this would happen...

Veridium, sheesh, luxury. They start off with rusted bronze armor and a salad fork. Now that's hard core. Image IPB

So will my elf mage be able to collect all of the My Little Pony figurines, or will I need to replay it to unlock them?

Not good news at all...I'm starting to have second thoughts on this expansion...
Companions don't carry over, Armor doesn't carry over, DLC doesn't carry over...
So it doesn't really "expand" on the original except in story...

For equipment carry-overs, I take it giving things to Bodahn, because he doesn't seem to loose what you sell, is out of the question too?

I hope it will be a "fine dwarven" salad fork, or at least a good soup spoon.

Already pre-ordered the expansion so I guess it doesn't really matter- am looking forward to it.

I hope it's armor like what Alistair is wearing in the trailer xD

Awwwr....I still feel down about how my Paladin like character I made and gave the newest DLC gear to just won't be the same anymore...there is no point to me even importing him to the new game...
