Back in my day, you started out naked, everything, including your posterior integrity, stolen by a 89th level drow super assassin. And you had to fight with the weapon that the gods gave you. And we cried, "But it hurts!". Did we stop?
No!
And you know what? We liked it that way. We LOOOOOVED it.
All a grey warden really needs is his taint.
Yes.
I said it.

Hehe, that's only a step down from being a Rogue xD

It's already been mentioned. All you have to do is make all companions naked and keep their gear in your inventory. Save it then import that save file. It's not rocket science.
Oh? I must have mis-read then. I thought we were losing EVERYTHING. In that case, this is perfectly workable =3

Ah-HA! So it is Leliana who is returning! She's culturally Orlesian and only Orlesians care about ponies! True Fereldans buy My Little Mabari instead!Ferret A Baudoin wrote...
The person returning from Origins does not have the same equipment they had from Origins. They have some good starting gear, though. Perhaps they sold their old stuff for some cool My Little Pony figurines or something. We'll probably never know.
Thanks for the reply, BTW.

Nothing better then a naked slow-mo killing blow on an Ogre.

That would be awesome, but you got to do it barehanded too.

Veridium, sheesh, luxury. They start off with rusted bronze armor and a salad fork. Now that's hard core.
Ha I dare you, Id try that on Nightmare all the way thourgh...... And they say you guys have no sense of humor.
Besides how hard can a Salad fork be to code.

As for... uhmm... what did I want to say? Oh yes, you appear to be very opened to us members. We could even try to kidnap you and give you cookies in exchange for information... err, I didn't say that loudly, did I?

That's not what was said at all. Everything in your inventory will carry over, unless it's equipped by a companion. So DLC items will carry over if they are in your inventory, but once you move onto Awakenings, you won't be able to get them.worksa8 wrote...
Not good news at all...I'm starting to have second thoughts on this expansion...
Companions don't carry over, Armor doesn't carry over, DLC doesn't carry over...
So it doesn't really "expand" on the original except in story...

And what about the Specialisation, Attributes, skills and talents of the returning character? Will (s)he keep the levels we give him/her during the OC or will him/her be the same generic character for everybody?
If I can imagine that the returning character will have sell his items to buy more beers, figurines, shoes, cookies … (depending of the character), it would be harder to justify that this companion has forgotten his characteristics.

Thus de-equipping your gear before you load up the expansion.

You keep all your stats, specializations, and talents. You really are returning as you - gear, training, level, and whatever personal quirks you imagine your character might have (I like to imagine my character breaking out into the "Spam" song when no one is looking).
Not to be nitpicky, but I do love me some nits. Anyways, it was stated earlier that we WOULD NOT have our equipment, meaning that we, you know, wouldn't be wearing the equipment we had at the end of origins. Unless you are saying we are keeping the stuff in our inventory but loosing the stuff we are wearing, which, you know, is kinda retarded (yes, I said it).
I completely agree with losing some or all your eq, but of course you would keeping your stats and talents. I mean, if it is years past then you would have changed your clothes at least once, retired gear, realized that you don't need the all powerful metorite sword for traveling from village to village and such.

Back in my days, we started as a cell in an uterus. While we were still a cell some level 101 Beholder would start beating up our mother and then jump up and down on her belly for 500 years. Then we were born and had nothing but our umbilicus to fight the Beholder, which was now level 200, while we were level 0, and we had to strangle the Beholder with that umbilicus, while it continued to zap and whack us.
Did we stop?
NO!
