And Stone Prisoner might also need Offer File for Stone Prisoner

Though I have no idea what the offer file is, all my DLC downloaded fine by itself.
So you will want to read up on the wiki page anyway

The Sulcher's Pass location and Felix are in the Stone Prisoner Offer download.  Offers are supposed to download automatically for the main DLC (Shale, Warden's Keep, Return to Ostagar) to offer you the quest in-game before you've bought the DLC (all that in-game advertising that people complained about).  Sometimes they don't download, and some people turned downloading of them off and then run into problems if they actually do want the content later.

After the RTO debacle (and before it was finally released), I reinstalled DA just in case and was able to acquire the DLC without difficulty on the PC. It is the first DLC to require a patched game version (all other DLCs required game version 1.00) so tying it to the patch seems to have been a hurdle that took some time. Even so, the DLC was not as polished as I would have liked. For example, Marik's Blade is missing a strength requirement no matter what tier it is and I'm not sure its possible to acquire the items at a tier above 5. All items can be upgraded by selling them to a merchant (with the peculiar exception of the Staff). I hope future DLCs will be more polished. Due to the lessons learned in the RTO debacle, I'm confident that Bioware will provide a more reliable download experience for future content.

Sorry but that is just lame and stupid.

You just told us far more about yourself than the OP. None of it's good.

I'd love to buy additional DLC but I couldn't log onto the server. When I contacted EA tech support I was informed that the DLC servers do not support dial up. I live in a dial-up only area so I was not happy to hear this. There are many areas which are still dial-up only. Not supporting dial-up, EA is treating a lot of their game buyers as second class citizens since they can't partake in all the game features.

So it worked? That's good to hear.
Because I had someone contact me via PM, who was still having trouble.
Once I hear back from them and we (hopefully) figure out their trouble, I'll look into perhaps making a tutorial thread about it, similar to my previous one in my signature.

The problem with my DLC is not something that anyone else but me can fix, my credit card is maxed and it won't let me purchase any points, so NO DLC FOR ME! lol

Actually, no it did not work. I can run the DAupdater (although it gives me an error message immediately after starting, it does start), however, when I navigate in the progam to the folder which contains the two items, there is nothing there to see -- and yes, it is the same folder. I have it open in a windows explorer in another screen. Because the DAUpdater only allows me to select dazips, it shows the folder as being empty, as if there were no dazips in that folder. (There are other things in the folder too, but also 2 dazips.)

I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

/me votes for this also :)

Melkathi's tutorial helped me learn how to do proper clickable links, which I can remember how to do now 80% of the time.  :)

I'm looking at ways to work around this.

Obviously you should check that you really have the right files downloaded and your browser didn't download an html copy of the webpage that hosts the file instead. Browsers can be stupid like that. Suddenly you end up with an index.html file and think WTF?
The files you need to have are:
For Stone Prisoner:
DAO_PRC_CP_2_1.0.dazip
DAO_PRC_OCP_2_1.0.dazip
For Blood Dragon Armor:
DAO_PRC_PROMO_ME1.1.dazip

I tried right-clicking the downloaded files and using Open With and selecting the daupdater as the default program to open dazip files with. But I get an error message.

For the time being (and as I don't know we'll be able to find what's wrong) I'd suggest getting third-party help:

Dragon Age Modmanager

I have it installed on my PC and trust the file. (for all that's worth in case people are paranoid)

I'd suggest downloading that, installing it and then copying the .dazip files for stone prisoner and the blood dragon armour into the \\\\DAOmodmanager\\\\mods\\\\dazip folder. Then run modmanager and it should show them at the bottom of the screen, letting you rightclick to install.

Hey so whenever I download said file it downloads as a .zip not a .dazip? Whats up with that. Maybe thats why it cant find the file since its looking for dazip not zip.

Yes, that would be the problem.:wizard:
Have a look inside the zip file. If there is anything but the original .dazip file inside, you will need to change the file extension from .zip to .dazip.

edit: ( ah and just googled this in case you need it: changing file extensions in windows 7 )

Now thats a problem I have actually seen before!
Are you rightclicking or doubleclicking the dazip file or are you trying to run daupdater itself?
Because I get that error message when I try to Open With or doubleclick the dazip, while running daupdater by itself works fine for me.

And yet agian we see someone prop up an opinion as a fact, what you say is truly arrogant. did you not stop to think that may he was just venting his frustrations out about the problems  he is having installing his game. Maybe he is the one in a thousand who is not gifted with a computer, you would be suprised how many people would not know how to operate a computer if it was not windows based.

Remember it is better to be thought of as an idiot that to open your mouth and leave no room for doubt.

Yay! It worked haha! I swear I could dance on the moon right now. Melkathi you really should get this topic stickied or make your own comprehensive "Installing DLC for Dummies" Guide. You have been insanely helpful throughout this entire ordeal. Thank you so very much.

I completely agree with the original poster. I also had issues trying to get my DLC and I think that just shouldn't happen. This should be as easy as clicking a button and getting what you are entitled to.

I agree too! I've been reporting DLC purchase/redemption issues up the ladder since I started. A lot of them should be resolved in a future update (release date TBD).

Now let's wait and see if Onomastikon had the same problem Archwolf had...

That would be nice.

Then we could all just sit back with a nice cup of tea.

But somehow I just know it's not going to be that easy.

Though if the daupdater itself has some error and is bust. I have no idea how to fix that - I am no techie. There would be the obvious "try uninstalling and reinstalling" thing people always say, but that doesn't figure out the problem, even if it does fix issues sometimes.

If it's a problem with the updater, then all I can do is suggest trying modmanger (as I linked a few posts above).

I know.
I try to control it.
It freaks people out IRL.
Either because they don't understand that some of us just enjoy being helpful and really neither have ulterior motives nor are going to end up breaking into their house and butchering them in their sleep OR because (as a young lady I once knew said) if you are nice to everyone, how is it going to be special when you are nice to me.
*sigh*
