Have you tried manually downloading, since you are on PC and manually installing?
Honest offer:
if you live near enough I'll drop by and install the stuff for you :wizard:

Nominated for creepiest post of the month.

I know.
I try to control it.
It freaks people out IRL.
Either because they don't understand that some of us just enjoy being helpful and really neither have ulterior motives nor are going to end up breaking into their house and butchering them in their sleep OR because (as a young lady I once knew said) if you are nice to everyone, how is it going to be special when you are nice to me.
*sigh*

Nominated for second creepiest post of the month.

I had to do the following steps to make the DA:O Updater work all the time for me, maybe it's usefull for you.

http://www.scrnshots...ade/screenshots

Step 1

Step2

Step 3

Step 4

After doing all this it made the DLC show up ingame. So I could download it and play it.
Sometimes the Content Updater isn't working for some reason or an other (most of the time after a crash in DA:O)
You'll know soon enough, because if you load a previous saved game it will say something like "DLC content not active, can't load save game.
If so. Just use Step 1, scroll down to the program and restart it.
Hope it helps!

Edit:
Sod it, I can't get the pictures to show up, just follow the link and follow the directions from step 1 to step 4 (Start at the right most picture...)
Damn my noob internet picture link skills... Posted Image

Edit 2:
And if you're wondering what I'm using.
Windows 7 64 Ultimate Edition, Dutch version Posted Image

EDIT 3.99990752ish
I figured out what I did wrong... lol

What you did wrong:

You didn't close the first URL tag, so it never starts the IMG tag, the first ] being the one that closes the URL one, since you can't put a tag inside a tag.
If that makes sense.
I think they call that a Parse Error.
Happens to everyone.

Here:

Posted Image

Edit: you will also notice that the one image that got put in the forum forces a size which messes with the forum display. I am not quite sure why it does that, but I'd wager it's that %20 at the end of the link which somehow in the parse error gets viewed as a forced size.
It's always easiest to rightclick the image, click View Image and use that link. (or use Copy Image Location)

What the hell, I had my pictures up here, and now they're gone again... buggy forum?

Never mind, there they are.
What I did wrong was NOT using the BBCode option while trying to post the pictures.
Thanks for the help melkathi!!!!

Buggy like hell, I can see them in the thread just fine, but if I click quote on your post I can see them in your post, neither are they in the BBCode...

Weird indeed. Oh well, the pictures are there for the people who need them. I'm not going to edit them again or they will disappear again. Luckily I'm smart enough to copy the entire post (including all the links etc...) BEFORE I hit submit. hehehe

Had to learn that the hard way... O_o

Good to see these additional tips, perhaps that will help someone in the future.

Actually, I am giving up. I think the game is quite nice as it is, I will not invest more time in optimizing it. It has now become sort of a very wearisome side-quest that no longer holds promise or appeal. I think a critical threshold of 200 minutes investment is not unreasonable.

(Please note this is not sour grapes; while I am slightly dissapointed, I am not greatly so, merely annoyed about the approx 4-5 hours I have invested into this undertaking, that is far too much time for nearly any task.) (Hmn or to elaborate: I do not believe that I am whining or ranting, but I do hope that consructive criticism formulated in an appropriate tone is more helpful than servile flattery or blatant fanboyism. My intention was not to demand services, but to point out (to people at EA, by the way, not Bioware) that by investing funds in optimizing the way DLC is handled may be in their own rational self-interest, since there is probably a non-insignificant client-base in a similar position to mine: I am not demanding something, I am waving with my wallet and indicating that, should the conditions be better, I would be more than willing to give them money for DLC-products and -services, not, however, under the present circumstances. In fact, if formulated differentiatedly enough, anyone at EA should not only not take offense at comments such as mine, they should be grateful for free post-sales feedback many companies normally must engage costly marketing agencies for. I am merely stating this because there seems to be a vociferous subsection of posters here (oddly enough, considering this game has a 18-year old mature rating, at least here in Germany) who find anything short of constant unconditional praise to be a self-serving whine.)

I completely agree with the original poster. I also had issues trying to get my DLC and I think that just shouldn't happen. This should be as easy as clicking a button and getting what you are entitled to.

I agree too! I've been reporting DLC purchase/redemption issues up the ladder since I started. A lot of them should be resolved in a future update (release date TBD).

EA, this man has the consumer aquisition and retention priorities straight. Go Sporkfire :)

Kind of funny postscript: Someone PMed me with some more instructions, I really felt compelled to carry them through, and so I FINALLY got the data manually installed (renamed zip files, etc.), .... and now can finally see mention of at least the Stone prisoner in-game, but NOW I get the message that it is "unauthorized" (on the launcher segment) and that I can "purchase it" (in the journal entry), although I had redeemed my coupons before starting this mess. No sign of the Blood Armor, and "unauthorized" Stone Prisoner. This is not how a side-quest should work!

Well, the renaming of zip files had been mentioned in here as well

Did you download the offer file?

Also, if you check your Registered Game Products does Stone Prisoner how up?

In the beginning I had problems installing DLC as well. Kept getting errors using the ingame downloader. Then I figured out that it was downloading to my BOOT partition instead of my STUFF partition. So I found the DLC files and cut them from Boot to Stuff and used the Updater. Since then, I wiped my system to only have one partition and have had no problems since.

You may also want to cleanup and defrag your system. You'd be surprised how much wasted space you could have. Two days ago I fixed my Mam's system right up by doing just that.... there was 4GB of wasted space in total which was (in conjunction with heavily fragmented files) causing a massive performance hit.

If you guys only played the 360 version...

I've been trying to download the armor and stone prisoner but keep getting an error message. I got these codes to work just fine with a different copy of the game, but that was before RtO came out, and the patch that was needed with it. Now, with a different copy of the game (needed to wipe the hdd), and post patch, I can't download the dlc, even though it is purchased. Might the issue indeed be that the Blood Dragon Armor and Stone Prisoner require version 1.0, and can't be downloaded after the RtO patch? Any ideas how I might keep my 360 from patching the game until after I get these two dlc downloaded?

I know that you all have the pc version and probably don't know how to assist me, but the xbox 360 tech support forums are getting no responses from Bioware, and I thought it couldn't hurt since I stumbled upon this topic. I plan to just put this game on hold until an update comes out (hopefully), but the codes are only good through April 30th.

Wish I could help you Arthur.
But truth is, the closest I have ever been to an xBox is walking past one in a store.
I take it sending a mail to tech support didn't help either :(

Regarding XBOX and PS3:

If you have looked at the helpful threads in the respective tech support sections of the forum and those cannot help you, there isn't anything we fellow forumites can do :(

With the PC version, there are a lot of things a user can try to find ways to manually fix the game. Sadly, as I understand, consoles don't allow for this. On one hand it's the consoles' strong point: one set of hardware and software that hasn't gotten altered in the slightest bit, allows companies to optimize their products. On the other hand though, it ties users hands.

So if you have tried everything you could think of, I can only urge you to contact customer support, tech support or whatever.
Chris Priestly has provided all necessary links in the stickies:
XBOX

PS3

In all honesty, I think they are the only ones who can really help you :?

I had PS3 download issues, too. I had no problem with downloading the Stone Prisoner DLC but it wouldn't recognize my code for the Dragon Blood Armor. I noticed the instructions were a little different and it looked like I had to enter the code online via my pc after creating a Bioware account. I didn't have time to bother with that so I let it go for a couple weeks since the code is good 'til April. I was about to do try it online when I decided to give it one more shot on the PS3. For whatever reason, this time it worked even though it hadn't about 2 weeks ago. Don't know why it worked one time and not the other but you might just want to try again. Not sure exactly how I tried before but today I just entered the code with no dashes from the Downloadable Content screen.

The program called Dragone Age:Origins - Content Updater is probaly the key here. That's the thing I posted the pics for. (check your mail, I PMed you about it)
Stupid thing about this program is that you need that program to install and authorize any DLC you have/are entitled to.
If the program isn't running it won't show ANYTHING in the Downloadable Content tab you have in your Main Screen.
For some reason or another it doesn't startup once you start up DA:O with everybody (Thank you EA???)
Quickest way to check if it is running:
Windows Key + R
Then type:
services.msc

Check to see if Dragon Age:Origins - Content Updater is running, if NOT hit the start option you see in the left side of the screen.

startup DA:O

Check your downloadable content/ installed content tab.
If the DLC isn't installed you you might have to download and install it, you can do that ingame. Might take a while before it's all DLed and installed but atleast you don't have to worry about leaving the game. Go grab a tea/coffe/beer while it's being done... :)
You might have to delete the manually downloaded content to make this work as well? I'm not to sure about that.

For any moderators, you might want to move this to the PC tech help forum, it's turning into a tech thread iso a General thread... And perhaps sticky?

For any PS3/Xbox users, sorry guys I don't have a clue what those makes the DLC tick on those consoles... sorry :(

Edited for typos
