Please dear bioware, our time is very precious, we have work to do or otherwise use our precious time.

PLEASE do not waste our time with stupid minigames like planet mining!

Please give us just the best parts of your games that we ENJOY and that are WORTHY of our TIME!

Time is precious, because it's not infinite!

Please, pleasye, don't do this to us I beg you!

The game is very good and doesnt need this, I'd be much happier with just the best parts of the game!

I like the planet scanning, though riding around in a Mako was more enjoyable. Perhaps both a bit over-used... but oh well.

I thought mining the planets was a cool addition to the game. I do, however, miss riding around in the Mako.

I'm not a big fan of either of them. Ya sure its fun the first 10 times ya play through the game but on your 11 play through it tend to get a bit tedious.

Well, without the planet scanning the game is just a basic shooter.

I miss the Mako. It would've been fun to drive it or another vehicle on the Krogan homeworld.

Second time through the game I skipped the mining by...adjusting...my resources. It took a lot of tedium out of the game.

I can't believe they replaced MAKO with planet scanning...

At least with mako you could drive and enjoy wonderful scenarios

..Launching probe, probe launched, launching probe, probe launched, launching probe..

Well obviously you would be hated by the OP

Seeing as he talks about his precious time... lets imagine all those spots that you can get good amounts of resources from on a rich planet... bout 15 or so right.

Ok now imagine going to those spots in the Mako on a ME planet map.

WAY more time than it takes to scan a planet.

Also have you been living under a rock the last few weeks. We are getting the Hammerhead to replace the MAKO on some super cool vehicle based missions. So the Mako hasn't been replaced by scanning.

pst... you don't have to planet scan if you don't want too.

Yeah you may not get all the upgrades and cool stuff because of it but no one is preventing you from playing the game the way you want to. The game had to somehow keep it's RPG elements without alienating those who played the first game and loved the RPG aspects of it. Plus, just for kicks... there are multiple side missions on these planet scans.

Give it up to BioWare for making the game a little bit longer than it could have.

Planet scanning can be tedious. On Insanity, I found planet scanning to be essential because upgrades make the game MUCH easier. I do hope they have a new system for ME3. Something that's a balance between the scanning and the Mako maybe.

My time isn't actually that precious, and I like planet scanning infinitely more than I like riding around on the Mako.

im not a fan of planet scanning but something needs to be there for side quests. people hated the mako even though i liked it so i understand why they replaced it with planet scanning. this is going to be something thats very hard to get right. and it definately can't please everyone

So far I like the scanning more than climbing mountains in the Mako, but then again I have spent alot more time with ME1 than ME2 at this point.

Scanning a planet takes under a minute so why are you complaining? The MAKO was very boring and some planets where a nightmare to drive on, the scanning mini game was fun and very short.

For me the scanning is strangely relaxing. I found myself doing it for hours in the middle of the night until i realized how long i was doing it... Anyway, its not bad. (On PC... cant tell for console)

The mako would have been great too if some of the planets would have had less mountains. When the surface was rather flat, then the mako was really nice.

The scanning wasn't so bad on the PC. I can image how terrible it was on a console, though.

One thing that would have been nice is if Miranda's upgrade made it even faster than it did.

It's amusing for a while, but after a while it gets very tedious and boring. I don't mind it existing, I just wish it ran faster (even after the upgrade it was slow) or was refined in some other way. I much prefer it to the M.A.K.O., though.

Probin planets is a huge drag.  I wish steps were taken to minimize it's importance.  Like, making the deposits fewer but larger, and making the cursor have a wider sweep.

The only other Bioware game I have, KOTOR, had that spaceship shooting mini-game.  Are these repetitive and tiresome  mini-games a trademark of all Bioware games?

I enjoyed the planet scanning, it was the only part of the game where I felt I could reward my stats. The RPG reward was everywhere with the brilliant story progression, but no feeling of reward in the stats/weapon upgrades. I bought a new mouse yesterday because I wore the wax feet off my Laser 6000 with my vigorously scanning. No ***, seriously, I wore the wax feet right off it. After a while my mouse became noisy and the sound of moving it back and forth on my desk 6 times a second got ugly. In ME3 I hope they keep some sort of planet exploration and maybe include an extra set of mouse feet if it's the same one.
