OMG, AA, that was so hilarious.  Daveth and Jory staged that the whole time.  You know I can see them and Duncan doing that just to see if the new recruit can take it.  Ha, too funny.  And the part about Alistair made me fall in the floor laughing.  Oh what those silly Gray Wardens got up to before Ostagar. hehe. Thanks, Amethyst! This thread caught me at just the right moment... One beer in and relaxed before getting into catching up on fic and some work.

LOL Olwaye! Decidedly female and happily finishing off a Sammy Winter Lager... Figure I deserved it after getting my poor PT stuck in the driveway again (damn snowplows blocking the way with snow piles). I'm contemplating a second...

Lager! Sorry I am a french raised on belgium beers and I spent 4 years in England on a steady diet of english Ale and Irish and scottish stout. Lager is like making love in a canoe ( f***ing close to water) :)

Still love you though.( Don't mind if you've got a hubby, as I always say I am not jealous ;) )

I have other tastes... Give me a good, room-temperature glass of bitters.... Ooo, the joy of watching everything settle to the bottom... Le sigh. It's damnably tough to find a good bitter on tap in the Southern US. Ales and stouts are other faves too. Basically, I pretty much like any kind of beer, except commercially brewed American garbage -- Sammy is about as commercial as I'll go.

Great, now I'm wondering when I can fit a trip in to my fave pub for a Beer Sampler Platter and a decent Rarebit.

*grins* I have much love to share! Especially with another beer lover! (Gots a hubby, yes. He just gives me an amused nod most of the time and chuckles)

Ahh, well, Southern Mountain Medicine is... Interesting, my dear. The first time I tried it, I was told to drink quickly so it couldn't eat through the cup. LOL However, one ounce will cure the worst migraines... The kinds I used to go to the ER for help with.

Oh holy freaking Maker, I can't stop laughing at that phrase! :o

As to the rest of the exchange... All I can say is that you both make me grin, even though I'm not much of a beer drinker myself, save for a few Smirnoff fruit malt drinks. Yeah, I'm a compete teetotaler.

I was indoctrinated to good beers in college -- I hung out with grad students who had more taste than the frat boys. LOL I've been exploring and enjoying new beers ever since. My hands down fave is a Heather Ale made with heather berries instead of hops. But, I also like Schlafly's stuff (went to college by them and spent a goodly portion of my 21st birthday at their brewery / pub), Arrogant Bastard, Rogue, and all kinds of small batch stuff. I also like wines, champagnes... LOL I sound like a booze hound, but we rarely get to go out these days. In fact, the "birthday tequila" from a friend of ours who works for a distillery just got opened after six months. LOL

Following a chat with two of my fellow forumite, I wanted to use a certain expresion in a song about how it sucks to be a Grey Warden.
So here it is. I have made it sort of hip-hopy (think Fresh PrinceImage IPB), it's based on the cousland origin as it seemed the most fitting.

This is a story
About how my life
Got turned upside down
Sat there in the garden
Let me tell you how I joined the Grey Warden

Born and raised in Highever
Daddy had a big castle
Had everything going
When a guy named Howe
Real bastard up to no good
Started messing up with my neighbourhood

Mom, Dad and the butler
All got slashed'n'burned
Weirdo named Duncan
Got me out in the air
I ain't no more prince of Highever

Duncan got me to Ostagar
Made me drink some blood
and went "Bang, you're a Grey Warden!"
Now some douch called Loghain
Wants to make sure I'm dead

Got to hang up with boy Alistair
And witchy, b****y Morrigan
Got to stop Armaggedon
Killing some big ugly dragon

Few months ago in my chamber
I was in bed with a hot elven lass
Now I need to thrust, parry and duck
Man, I sure am s**t out of luck!

OK so I wrote that in about 5 minutes and just to be able to use "s**t out of luck" in the vain hope of making my partners in crime DalishRanger and Taiyama smileImage IPB, hope some others will like that.

 Too awesome! Certainly improved my mood a bit. ;) Got woken up unexpectedly twice - first half an hour after I went to sleep because my father couldn't find his car keys and thought I'd lost them... Then he found them on the key rack ten seconds later. <_< Then I just got woken up because I'm the only person in the house currently capable of driving to the doctor's office for my brother in an hour. Buuuh, I just hope I'm not so sleepy I go off the side of the road or something. Where's my coffee? :pinched:

But I digress. This was hilarious. :D

“Especially when so many of them tend to behave like young teenagers when it comes to the romance thing... so much pathos, so much drama, you wouldn’t expect that from hardened Grey Warden veterans.”

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Seriously, I should not have read this thread while drinking soda, because it hurts when you laugh carbonated beverage out your nose.

And speaking of NPCs and shrieking fangirls...

--

"So what did you want?" Cullen asked. "I hope you know, I'm missing Awesome NPC Pub Night for this."

He and Alistair were walking down the corridors of the palace's east wing. The doors in this part of the castle were large, strong, and locked; there were faint high-pitched squeeing noises coming from behind some of them that made Cullen's hair stand on end.

"Well," Alistair said, "it's a little... complicated. You see, behind these doors..."

"Insane Alistair fangirls, yes, we all know. You can't throw a brick in Denerim without hitting some slavering marriage-minded Cousland. What's the point?"

"It's not just the Couslands. I've got Aeducans, Tabrises, you name it  - but the problem I'm having is with the Amells and Suranas. They're getting antsy."

"Ooh. Antsy mages. That's not good."

"You're telling me. I don't know how much more fireball damage the building can take. We've got to calm them down, or distract them somehow..." They'd stopped in front of a huge steel door, which Alistair unlocked. "And that's where you come in."

The door opened, revealing a crowd of wild-eyed women in robes, waving staves. Upon seeing Cullen, they let out a delighted shriek in unison.

"No!" shouted Cullen. "Not the female mages! You can't do this to me!"

"Sure I can," Alistair said cheerfully. "King, remember?" And he shoved Cullen in and slammed the door.

Speaking from experience too - it really, really does. :pinched:

But hey, at least it's not as awkward feeling as pulling a pasta noodle out from inside your nose.

...

*Cough*

xD I did. I took a nap when we got home from the doctor's. Then I got up and continued working on the dancing art. It's pretty much finished - I just need to figure out what I want to do for a background.

I know your not too keen on background but maybe they could be dancing in thr Brecilian forest while visiting the Dalish (after all it's after the Dalish/Werewolves quest that Legam realised he was in love with Leliana, is this sappy enoughImage IPB)

OMG, that was too funny.  Poor Cullen's about to be ravished by hordes of lonely mage girls.  Oh wait, did I just say "poor" Cullen, hehe.  Maybe I should rephrase that.  Image IPBImage IPB

I actually don't mind doing backgrounds if they're nature-based; Besides, I know where they're at - some sort of formal celebration, which would mean a building... It's also meant to be at least a few years post-Blight.

What I can't decide is if I want to keep the background an abstract color, or do a blurred party background. Hm.
