Dragon Age take on "where are they now"

What do the companions do when the story is not being played? This writer has investigated the whole of Ferelden to find out.

Alistair and Morrigan are the hottest couple in Denerim, no social event is worth it if they are not here. Bards, minstrels and the common folk refer to them as “Morrali” and check their every moves and sayings. Morrigan is the most in demand jewellery designer, her pieces selling as high as 1000 gold. Alistair is a well known authority on mystic items.

Wynn is founder and director of the “Denerim college for young girls and boys”, where pupils and staff call her Madame Wynn. The political and entertainment elite of Ferelden and beyond is known to visit her college as “lecturers”. Graduate from the college include Sanga and Isabella.

Oghren is the owner of the best fighting school arena in Thedas (“where you will learn how to twirl your pike properly” as he puts it). Unfortunately his heavy drinking during the playthroughs (“I can’t fake, if the story needs me drunk, I will be drunk” he stated) cause him to spend some time at the Bann Ford clinic where he tries to get rid of his addiction.

Sten is a famous writer mostly known for his philosophical books but also for his children series about Softie the kitten, his latest venture is to release books that will mix images and text in a “totally new way”. When ask about the subject of said project he declared “Pashaara! After much teasing and demand from the Arlesses Chee and Kirby it will be about catgirls.”

Leliana can be found heading her fashion house during the day. She is Morrigan favourite dressmaker, as a result the good society of Ferelden is fighting to get Leliana designed clothes. By night she can be found in her night tavern the Butterfly Jar, in the palace district where her compositions, mix of short melodic phrases and heavy rythmes, are renowned to enthrall the people.

Zevran is touring the whole of Thedas with is band of bards Daggers’n’Roses, world famous for their exciting music and ruthless behaviour. After the success of their last shows “Hunger for Mayhem” and “Use the illusionist” they are preparing a new one that will be “bigger and better than anything done until now”, the only information given by Zevran was the title “Tevinter Democracy”. As we print rumours of troubles between band members started to spread. Lyre player, Carve, would have left the band.

Excellent! I wish I could make a more intelligent comment, but there's too many little things and references that made me grin widely that I couldn't hope to pinpoint them all. XD

OK, might not be as funny as the rest, but I tried to figure out what kind of artist/band our DAO heroes might ressemble/ be in.
So here's a list of Thedans band/ solo artist with some of their songs title.
Cookies and all my sympathie to those of you who find out the real bands and song or album titles, I haven't been to obscure in the choices.

So here what's hot in Thedas charts right now

Boyz II King ( extra question :guess the four men who are in this oneImage IPB) with All is different

Sgt Kyle lonely heart club band with She breaks through the Alienage window

Morrigan and the Harpies with A peck in the Fantasyshelter

Oghren and his band Hammerhead with Ace of runes

The Hurlocks collective, Hangnoose, with Heartbeat of the Darkspawns

Shianni with her band Pretty Vacant with Anarchy in the Alienage

Wynn with Large Green Carriage

Sten with That's no way to part Kadan

Duncan with Beard on Beard

A lot of people wonder what class to choose when starting DAO.
To help those people and to spreada bit more the popular lore of Thedas, I' ve transcribed an old fereldan song, nowadays only remember by the staff of the distinguish hostellerie known as the Pearl

The mage is a great delight
Dressed in robes and shy
But his staff is long and hard
And always rises up to the call
It does! It does!

The Warrior is a funny lad
Always waving his sword around
Going up and going down
Never too tired for another round
It's true! It's true!

But the Rogue is the best class
Nimble fingers and sneaky ways
Oh the Rogue is the best class
His dagger his sharp and fast
And he often surprise you from the back
Huzzah! Huzzah!

:D This actually reminds me of an idea I've had for a few days, and now I want to do it. I just can't decide if I should draw it, write it, or mix the two. Hm...

DalishRanger : draw it, your comics are great and a drawing got more impact ( and after the "poke" thing in your last one, I am already grinning Image IPB)

Amethyst : glad to procure comic relief

Hard? Sure, in the right situations. Long? No. He's average. That's actually part of the discussion for my idea. xD

EDIT:

I want to do it, but I don't feel like drawing another comic right now, not after the last piece. I might just draw a few basic illustrations and add a short story to it, kinda like SoL or the one-shot things I did in the past.

I am so pleased you've been updating this thread again, Olwaye. I have to admit, I'm a bit of lurker when it comes to threads I'm not determined to derail, but I have to comment on the bawdy song! The warrior part is definitely my favourite!!

Ah warriors! Runing up to the ennemy, broadsword held high at the ready, runing him through with a content grunt for a job well done. Lack of subtility perhaps but make up for it with passion.Image IPB

You can derailed my thread anytime Sisimka, but I see this thread as one big derailement anyway.

Well there is nothing subtle in war, when you come down to it it's just a question of sticking your sharp end in the other guy's belly and avoiding any sharp ends coming your way.

But I still prefer the Rogue approach :)

I always play rogues. Every single RPG the first character I play is a rogue. I am even 'rogue-like' by nature in RL. Aedan was the first warrior I ever played and I don't know if it was due more to the game mechanics (He is DW, so not a tank) or the RP aspect of it, but he has nearly totally converted me to the other side! Just something about being able to stand in the thick of it instead of always looking for a back, and wave two blades around and take all those hits. FUN!
