Hell, it's been a year since I posted anything, I must have been busy.
So just a little something .
Here the
Hitchiker's survival guide to Kirkwall
1. Apostates should not worry about Kirkwall templar fearsome reputation, they actually can’t recognize magic even practiced under their noses in the Gallows courtyard or in the city and its surrounding, unless it is done by mage from their own Circle.
2. Showing a large amount of chest hair is a major offense unless you are Varric Tethras.
3. Warriors should not worry about importing their two handed weapons, as in Ferelden, Kirwall people like their big heavy sword with impossibly long handles, and as in Ferelden they actually work.
4. Mages in Kirkwall does not fare better than their fereldan counterparts in the fashion department (especially regarding headgear), but they have even shorter temper and
really like their blood magic. Making fun will be frowned upon.
5. Before passing out in a ditch, make sure it is not already occupied by Isabella, she is rather quick with a knife.
6. If you are related to Hawke,
do not come to Kirkwall at all.
7. Kirkwall denizens are as sane as the next man, granted the next man might be Meredith, Grace, Quentin, Huon or Kelder.
8.
Do not accept a job offer from mother Petrice.
9. Pissing off the Arishok is legally considered suicide by the city guards.
10. Stealing a book from the Qunari is not a good idea.
11. Stealing anything from the Qunari is not a good idea.
12. Having dealings with the Qunari is not a good idea, unless you’re Hawke.
13.
Do not under any circumstances buy spooky lyrium idol from Bartrand Tethras.
14. Passing too much time in the Chantry might be a bad idea, especially if you see Anders around.
15. The presence of city guards in the streets
does not make them safer at night.
16. Boasting of being a mage or a slaver or confessing a fondness for all things tevintid around Fenris
is not a good idea.
17. “Bone pit” and “Wounded Coast”
are not quaint and folkloric names for great touristic sites, planning picnics there is not recommended.
18.
Do not accept a job offer from Hubert.
19. If you think that mages belongs in the Circle and that templars are jolly good chaps try avoiding Anders, especially if he start to glow blue.
20. Learn to scheme and backstab as soon as possible, it’s a sort of national sport in Kirkwall.
21. Learn about Blood mages and demons, no matter what you will be doing in Kirkwall, you
will meet one of those at some point.
22. Unless you are of the heroic persuasion
do not walk the street at night, the ratio citizen/ people willing to stick a sharp object/ claw/ talon in any passerby in Kirkwall is the highest in all of Thedas.
