Maybe it's because the workers never leave the store. They're just always there, so they have no idea what's going on in the outer world...

Hehehe - yeah, my attitude towards it was that each shop had a different customer base, so it was perfectly alright. After all, one could be your favorite gun shop, while another is your favorite software/tech shop/whatever.

I'm Commander Shepard, I've saved the galaxy on numerous occasions and get so little support from my superiors that I have to do this crap to be able to afford a simple armor upgrade.

In the next game it should be even more over the top with the option of having practically everything advertisment based changed into shepard based stuff, there should then be new comments from random people as you wander around on a future visit about how "shepard may be a hero but he sure as heck sold out fast"
