Hi all,

      First, yes, I'm a newbie to Dragon Age Origins (I wonder how much days are needed to NOT be called a newbie anymore!  .  Anyway...  I did some modding before (Baldur's Gate, BGII, Nwn, Nwn2, Oblivion, Fallout 3, and some others) so I know "a little" how it works.

     Now, I'm just trying to modify things in the original campain so that I KNOW it would work.  So, I always start small...  I want my venom poison item thingy to, instead of lasting 1 minute (60 seconds to be right), to last 120 seconds (2 minutes).  Now, I found the file (item_constants_h.nss), extract it, modded it (it's easy, one single line to modify from 60.0f to 120.0f (in my mind, anyway).  So I placed it in "users\\...\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\package\\core\\override"(Windows 7).  But, well, you guessed, it doesn't work.

     In my mind, I should recompile it (don't know how, however).  (The days of 2da files were soo easy)

Can anyone give me a tip or two, please!

It works for me. I successfully replaced the mage's robes with the archon's robes and did not have any issues.



I did not use the user directory, but the one in program files: C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age Origins\\packages\\core\\override



Just drop in what you want (in my case, an extracted .uti file from designeritems.erf)

Oh...  So I guess it's the .gda that goes in the override... not the .nss...

If so, now I just need to figure out how to recompile the thing...  (Ex.: I change a .nss in a gda in 2da.erf...  So, to make it work, I need to put back the modded .nss in the .gda and to put it in override, right?)

The old 2da days where soo much easier...
