I think this is pretty ridiculous to not be able to load up my saved game and play DA:O during a time like this. Since I have DLC on that saved game I am unable to play it if I cannot log in...

Yep pretty much, i cant play because ME2 apparently requires me to validate my DLCs every single time i want to play the game. Was that really necessary Bioware? A single time Activation/validation would have been fine. Its like ME2 cant even decide on its own that there are DLCs installed o_O And i'd think that to be very much of a problem especially to people who do not have internet all the damn time.

Cerberus still down.

I barely managed (after 50 tries) to log in to my EA account...

10 AM EST here and I still cannot play DA:O. What is the deal Bioware? I hate to complain but I would love to play the game that my hard earned money purchased.

Is the server uptime an hour and half overdue? Just bought ME2, and can't even play it.

I can imagine the BioWare staff must be flapping right now - lol - and rightly so.

Had no problems logging into my Cerberus account when i tried it 10 minutes after the maintenance time noted in the announcement. Got my DLC and everything. Also a new Cerberus Daily news about an arrested Turian.

I sympathize fully with the network admins who have to do downtime work, and totally understand how that can extend beyond expected timeframes. However, knowing that this is on par for the course, Bioware/EA REQUIRING login to play what you want to play is where the whole thing breaks down. I'm not a happy customer to say the least.

Oooh even better: when choosing the option "new content" in the ME2 menu, the launched browser displays the great error

Fatal error: Call to a member function getPersonas() on a non-object in /opt/www/social.bioware.com/webroot/user_entitlements.php on line 152

Why do I feel like I've bought a MMO-single player game that requires internet connection to play, when I clearly recall it is a single player local game that I have paid for.

Login is not required to play either Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age if everything is setup correctly.

If you cannot connect to the Cerberus Network right now, go to Options->Online and turn "Auto Login to EA Online." to Off. Then restart Mass Effect 2. It will then not try to connect to Cerberus Network automatically, and you should be able to play.  (And yes DLC should still work.)

What the hell is this, I can't play my single player rpg because your servers are down? This is amazingly lame.

Hello everyone

Sorry for the delay, we are having a few network issues that we are working hard to restore asap.

You can still play Mass Effect 2. Start your games, wait for the timeout (you will see a message saying "communication with the mass effect 2 servers has been interrupted'"), then click ok and you will be able to play.

Again, we are working to get things up and running correctly asap. We appreciate your patience. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

I'm guessing this is a PC only deal? It would be great if I could do that on my 360 I just dont see the option:huh:

It works fine, as Chris said above...you must be doing something wrong.
