the copy gave more interesting information than I got from the trailer, forgive if its been posted already, I *did* certain pages of this thread rather quickly:

Not really keen on the first female companion being a mage, as usual. A granny to boot. I see wynne with pointy ears and added angst.

Hopefully they'll add a decently young and appealing female warrior as well.

Erm, so we are only getting five new companions in Awakenings, and so far two of them are mages? /snooze. Although I guess she might not be a companion. But crazy female mage, I hope you all realize she is always going to be put side by side next to Morrigan.

...you know the weird thing is I actually thought they both looked great compared to Origin's mages (although Morri's starting gear is nice it must be said).

I only really dislike her because she is a mage.
I don't really like mages, I would rather have a female warrior.
 
btw, I don't really care about her hair anyway.

Does that mean we have to stoop to the level of name calling?
I certainly hope not.
I really can't be bothered to have to write long spiteful posts about blind fanboiism not really helping developers to rech the full potential of their game. That would mean I'd have to also write long explanations on why something as unimportant as one npc's haircut is actually important. Some of which has been posted before, in both threads discussing this.
It would also make me look like a complete ******.
So let's all just be civil and keep it constructive.

I don't think I've seen this many people work themselves into such a tizzy over hair since Wigstock.  Bizarre.

In general, it seems people's expectations for these teasers (they're not really trailers, after all) are waaaay too high.  I mean, how much of a sense for the original DA:O characters could you get in 30 seconds?  It's pretty safe to assume that Anders and Velanna and whoever is on deck are just as likely to be a little more complex than their generic description, which is about all that's revealed at this point.  And really, would you want more revealed now?  Isn't figuring everybody out half the fun?

I like the idea of a hostile Dalish mage and a wisecracking Circle run-away.  These seem like interesting jumping-off points for new, different characters, whatever overt similarities we might find to our former companions on the basis of the tiny bit we've seen.

Did no one else read the interview on IGN? The one where the devs said that some companions were designed to bait you into a certain way of viewing them, so they could shock you? Anders is probably going to seem EXACTLY like Alistair, until you learn he eats puppies every Tuesday. Or something.

Edit: By the way, the robes aren't new. You can pick them up in the Korcari Wilds before the Joining.

From the video it seems this elf mage has a pretty good reason to be pissed off at that particular moment. I don't know from what evidence you're coming to the conclusion that she is unjustifiably pissed off all the time.
