Batarian's remind me of any extremist group, nothing about them speaks "Muslim" to me unless you're American.



Still don't see where people see "Jews" from Volus



And I'm not sure what real world ethnicity the Quarians are based off of, I can see the Gypsy part but their language can't figure out.

Other than your Quarian comparison, I disagree with both of those.



Batarians remind me more of citizens of some ex-Soviet satellite state run by former-KGB people who have discovered the joys of organized crime.



The volus are presented as far too much of a comic relief sideshow to be fairly compared to any real world group.



The Turians seem very similar to me to WWI era Germans.



Krogan are a lot like space Vikings.

The volus are skilled at finance but hold little military power, much like the Jewish people for most of history. That being said, this thread is headed for disaster.

People don't live in Eastern Europe, they're all just walking dead.

Quarians are a much better fit for being allegorically Jewish IMO. Many of their former worlds have Hebrew Bible references, for example. The Migrant Fleet is located in Raheel-Leyya (Rachel and Leia, wives of Jacob), they have a system named Sheol (Hebrew for "the grave") with a planet named Gei-Hinnom (Hebrew reference to hell), and etc. To seal the deal, the little prayer they had to their ancestors to open Tali's trial was an exact English translation of a Hebrew festival blessing, just replaced "ancestors" with "God." The writers couldn't be trying any harder to make the Quarians be allegory for Jewish people lol. Not to mention Tali is a pretty popular name in Israel...

I will not deny I am a zombie, I am, in fact, very proud of that. But I don't see Quarians establishing camps on the sides of cities (solar systems, in this case), continually offering their services as housecleaners and bards.
[e]Or circus performers. Everyone who worked with Quarians got the impression they were extremely skilled engineers, not quite the same thing.

Volus definintely are the space Jews of Mass Effect, accounting is their main value for crying out loud.

Quarians are space gypsies that actually have a reason to be travelling instead of selling me **** and then putting a curse on me when I don't buy it.

I'm basing this off stereotypes BTW, not real people;)

I am going to take a wild guess and assume everyone here who says Quarians are space gypsies is from America/Australia/New Zealand. If so, you are idiots, and you have no idea what the hell you're talking about. If you are from europe and actually have to deal with gypsies on a daily basis (or they are proudly responsible for most of the organized law-breaking in your country, I also apologize to italians for our inability to contain them here), I'd like to hear a good argument for them being the same.

They are migrant, artistic, and love dancing. They are disliked by most stationary races. they have a distinct unity to each other based on the groups they travel with, and their religious/cultural recitations are basically word-for word the english translations of hebrew text. they. are. space gypsies. The patterns on the fabric of their suit seems gypsy like too.

Not that that is bad. Gypsies are awesome. at least the american Ideal of them

Are you saying that jews have only recently embraced the medical and legal industries? Or are you annoyed that those stereotypical "jew jobs" weren't addressed? I'm confused.

My point was that Jewish people are in most professional fields. I didn't want to write a research paper on the distribution of Jewish people in every professional industry on a forum, thank you very much.

Not really.  Sparta was probably the most advanced democratic environment within ancient Greece (and Europe), and the ONLY one who gave women an equal say.


Or to put it bluntly, they were way ahead of their time in many of their views.  Krogan are much more similar to the barbarian hordes (and even used the same tactics before the Genophage.)
