Also, I enjoyed your cries of hypocricy, when you're trying you're damned hardest to be divisive in light of your signature.

*golf clap*

You can't create cooperation and unity with the misinformed or ignorant. Thanks for joining the fray and giving such insightful comments.

Hah, classic. "Cooperation and unity, ON MY TERMS INFIDEL!"

You are the cancer killing the world, sir.

Wow....I can't say that comment is too surprising. Idiot's always make purely personal and racist attacks. Nothing factual or intelligent in there at all.

The cancer is actually ignorant people like yourself, who contribute nothing but idioicy and hate.

I'm not trying to impose my terms on anyone. I'm having a debate with someone who thinks differently than me. You just make personal attacks.

Again, thank you for that insightful input.

Pray tell how you quantify anything I've written as "igornace" or "hate?" Because I called you out for being a hypocrite?

I'd like to see you justify this one :3

Very easily. Look at what you wrote. You used the word "Infidel" a stereotype. Then said I was a cancer on society because I disagreed with another forum member, with no reasoning. Just a racist comment and then an attack on me. That makes it both hate-filled and ignorant.

Anything else you'd like me to explain to you? I would hate for your pea-sized brain to overexert itself.

I'd hate to be the one to break it to you, but the word infidel isn't something the English language invented to be mean to Muslims.

However, your insecurity is obvious.

:) haha. You're such a wreck. There are self help hotlines for this sort of thing you know? You should stop with this whole "reading comprehension" thing while you're still ahead. (MASSIVE HINT: signature versus your platform of reason... which was more of an abyss of fallacy <3)

Geth are obviously Scandinavians.

Mmm....I didn't say that the word infidel was what you claim I meant it to be. It is however, a current day stereotype regardless of its origins.

I'm not actually insecure. I've made you look like an ignorant imbecile. That makes me very secure.

I've already responded to the signature attack. Reread that post if you need more clarification.

I'm done here, take care.

Based on my own observations through both games:

Krogans - Spartans

Asarai - Athenians

Turians - Empire of Rome

Volus - Jews

Quarians - Japanese

Drell - Persians

Not quite sure about the Elcor or Hanar tbh

Your logic is melting, metling, melting. Infidel isn't a stereotype, silly goose, it's a word! Calling Muslims swarthy terrorists with goat fetishes would be a stereotype... but no one's yelling that now, are they? :3

You didn't really respond to anything I said... because all I did was point out that you're a hypocrite. Which... um... you're continuing to pile evidence upon evidence upon. VICTORY THROUGH UNITY! Oh, but fck you, and you, and you, because you're dicks. Cha ching!

No wonder your view of gypsies is incredibly more realistic. I'd imagine there is nothing romanticized about them there, as you already explained. :P

Yeah, we're not exposed to gypsies. Gotta remember Bioware is Canadian. Canadians and Americans have a much more romanticized view of "gypsies", mostly 'cause they don't live there.

I'm just trying to ascertain why people think the Quarians are Gypsy allegory, when they're not really traveling entertainers that steal stuff.

P.S.

This thread is gay :3

Well (going off racist stereotypes in pop culture), the Quarians like the gypsies are nomadic in a sense (have a temporary home in the flotilla) and also you hear a few times in ME1 and ME2 (especially with the volus wallet incident) that Quarians steal because they are usually poor when they leave the flotilla on their pilgrimage (so they resort to stealing to bring something back to the fleet and/or survive). Erm yes...

Garrus reminds me of the Elites from Halo, Miranda looks like this one girl at my school, Krogans look like Halo grunts that can actually kill.

The Batarians remind me of some covert anti-government group. Perhaps the Basque seperatists, the IRA or animal rights extremists. I don't believe great deal has been explained about actual Batarian culture, only that they left the council and began guerrilla war against human colonies.

The Turians just remind me of Elites from the Halo franchise. However perhaps an influence of Rome and Sparta is there in their development.

The Quarians frankly have aspects of Gypsies, Jews and Muslims in their appearance. Their actual lifestyle is certainly not religious and leers far more towards an exiled democratic government.

The Hanar come across as an alien species of Mary Whitehouse. Annoying Jehovah Witnesses is a close as any stereotype can come though with them. The Volus are simply a race of travelling traders (capitalists?). We do not know enough about their culture other than it appears to be on bartering lines.

The Asari, as someone else mentioned earlier in the thread do appear to come off as French culturally. Perhaps in general they could come across as liberal european. I don't believe they now hold many religious notions and have established themselves as a long-lasting race of wisdom.

The Salarians are the offspring or brainchild of Sheldon Cooper. Although, in seriousness they just come across as eccentric scientists seeing moral ideals in terms of complete rationalism.

The Krogan have aspects of Sparta in them from their might equals right mentality. I suspect there is some old Scandinavian influence in them as well.

The Geth remind me of Anonymous. The Reapers remind me of the Matrix. The Collectors are literally just tools. They have no comparison. The Rachni could be any aggressive bug from any science fiction.

I don't know enough about the Drell to compare them to anything. We have only seen two and they have both been assassins. The Elcor, I don't know what to compare them to.

I see quarians as muslims.

Just because they cover their heads!!! Isn't that stereotypical?!

From their initial apperance yes and the similarities between the pilgrimage to help the Flotila and the pilgrimage to Mecca Muslims are supposed to do at least once in their lifetime.

The Reapers remind me of 18th century Europeans and 21 st century Americans/white guys, in that they think they're better than everyone else thanks to some gadgets they've largely sequestrated off other people, they think they should be running the galaxy on account of their gadgets, and are willing and happy to entirely exterminate other races and peoples in order to get their grubby mitts on other peoples assets.

I know, it's alternately laugh-out loud funny and disgraceful at the same time, isn't it? The central hypothesis of this thread seems based on the idea that Bioware couldn't simply have, y'know, invented these peoples at all, no, what instead happened is that they lazily cut-and-pasted their 'races' together from pre-existing racial stereotypes instead. Scandalous, really, and so utterly cheapening of the creative process that I'm left stunned.
