The council? NO! We find out why in many ways in ME2 - humans as a whole lost influence in the two years - we discover from ME2 the Alliance are secretly funding and giving the Illusive Man support for humanity to come out on top plus provided him with Normandy plans. Humanity is funding Cerberus - the council has their own spies who would have passed along this info to the council - so instead of using the Sovereign and the Geth war to become more integrated humanity took this opportunity to go one up on the lot. The council and other races are only acting like the Muslims in Iraq - hate being occupied so to speak. They resent humanity as you'd expect but have to use them for defense while they rebuild. The council is just reflecting their various races opposition as you'd also expect.



Udina was an idiot in ME1 and is still an idiot in 2.



Hated my former team mates thinking Sheppard is a traitor.



The Illusive man is still doing as the Illusive man's organization always did - anything and everything to make humanity the top dog.



The Alliance thanks Sheppard many times in ME 2 but yet Sheppard is never asked to rejoin - don't understand - Admiral Hackett still works with Sheppard.



My bad guy - Jack - don't really like her. And the various merc groups who prey on everyone equally. But ME2 is about the ugly under belly of all societies many of us know exists but never walk into - its ugly out there.



The little mechanic you mentioned I suspect did that to "show" his courage after the fact as creeps have a tendency to do as always. Make themselves look good - the real bad guys were the Collectors - using humanity like that verges on the edge of pure insanity. In turn then it is still the Reapers who call the shots - now we know what we're all up against - and why ME1 mentioned world were conquered and harvested - in ME2 we actually see the process and it's insanity at its worst. My opinion.

Udina is not so bad, he is just a politician. If you listen to the dialogue, he actually is pretty competent, probably moreso than Anderson actually. He is hardly "evil", though I imagine the Illusive Man and Udina would probably work well together...until it came to who should best lead humanity openly...

No the one you have to actually interrogate in the C-sec room. He's very annoying.

Not sure I think him #1 douche of the game though.. let's see..

I think I'll have to go with Udina. In ME1 he was portrayed as an average politician, but fought for you the best he could. In ME2 he is depicted as ambitious, selfish and arrogant. Especially if you put him on the Council. I was dissapointed to see Bioware go that way with his character, but it's not unexpected.

I wanted to go off on the council, tell them that I didn't save their butts so they could be the same moronic leaders. They should have learned the first time.

I wanted to tell the mechanic how stupid he was being. I hate people like him, they should have given the option to straighten him out.

Also hate the racist Volus and C-Sec officer.

Udina definitely needs Garrus' pole up his own ass.  The other end in the Taurian council members ass.
