Hey I read about the new patch out on steam here in this thread but I didn't see anything about where/how to get it if we have the normal retail version?  Tried looking on the main site and didn't see anything, and I can never get the search function to work on these forums, so any help would be appreciated!

I didn't see anything on the official EA support page, but if you do a google search, you'll find a number of sites mentioning a 1.01 patch that just came out and most of the sites offer links to it, it's about 13 MB in size....I haven't tried it yet.

Don't. I just applied it and now the program won't run.



I get the launcher - but when I click start - it doesn't do anything.



There's a thread about the launcher not starting after the patch - and I followed the instructions and it didn't help.

Had the same issue as well as a side by side config error when I ran daorigins.exe - you need the latest version of MS visual C++.

Go here:

and download and install vcredist_x86.exe

that fixed it for me at least; I take no responsibility if it melts your system.
