Asari for me, I'm a Biotic fanboy.
If you could play any alien race, what race would you play?

Salarian.
(Though Krogan and Volus would also be tempting options.)

Geth would be sweet and easy to customize armor, colors, etc...

I thought the collectors were pretty cool so I'd like to play as a Prothean. Maybe they can bring one back Jurassic Park style.

Reapers. Hands down.
Second choice is a Keeper.....Spectre!

Sincere opinion: Elcor is the best race, ever.

Drell or Turian.

True, forgot the choice of a Reaper collector biotic god hybrid whose only weakness is a rock from a planet that no one has ever been to.

Krogan without a doubt. Preferably a biotic battlemaster with his own badass krantt consisting of a Salarian engineer and a turian soldier. Y'know, to promote good relations between the species and look as badass as possible
And I'll keep the Volus biotic-god, and the Elcor who plays hamlet as a backup.

KROGAN! Long live Wrex and his coming empire, or an Elcor with a voice box

Quarian

Hmmm...
Geth would be pretty cool, although their way of functioning doesn't appeal to me.
I'd say Turian, or Quarian. I find I like Quarians a lot, not completely due to Tali, mind you.

I'd definitely have to go with the Quarians here.

Turian, definitely. If not that, then I guess Salarian.

Dunno, I'd probably just spend all my time in that character creation engine marvelling at all the races that would finally have female models.

Sincere remark: I would love to star in the 14 hour Elcor production of Hamlet

Reaper so I can fly around on space then land on plane. Would be cool to have some space battle against other ships too. I wonder what the dialogue options would be?

I'd probably play as a Quarian as far as normal-sized races go, but if I wanted to restrict myself to large races, I'd probably play an Elcor--
Although, it does make me wonder if a Mass Effect MMO is in the works after Mass Effect 3 is finished. I'd definitely subscribe to that!

I think you're the only person I've inter-met so far who's said that.

Asari or Krogan, both can live to a thousand. Being sterile seems like a bummer though

Turian, definitely.
Or an Elcor heavy weapons expert, with a cigar in his mouth and cannon strapped to his back.

Turian here, with Asari and Krogan as second and third choice.

Quarian/Turian, Quarian are more interesting to me, though and it would be interesting to have a choice of ships to what abilities they do, afterall, most of the ships tend to have a different adjenda on how they do things, and I'd expect how they train their crew.
