I first noticed this "reset/default" cheek and jaw setting with dwarves.

Ahh buggers. I wonder if that means the fix I heard of doesn't work at all, or worse, was bogus.

I've finally tried the beard trick personally. It is indeed a failure. The trick does work until you try to Save or Upload Info, then the beard/face reset happens during one of those two processes. I tried several different things, but none can get past the Save or Upload Info problem.  It does indeed look like the trick is a failure.
