I just finished my first play through on ME2 and played as a Vanguard, now for my second go round I wanted to be either a Soldier or Infiltrator,so I am curious to know from other players which to go with and why?

Thanks for any and all input.

Infiltrator is really fun. Sniping and turning invisible are always fun. Playing a Soldier is just... shooting. If I were you, though, I'd just go ahead and make both :P or one of everything even

That is what I was thinking as well,I don't want to just shoot, but it would be nice to have access to more weapons than I did with Vanguard.

maybe I will play Infiltrator then play a third time with Soldier, maybe by then we will have the darn Hammerhead LOL.

lol ya make both, as stated above infiltrator is fun if you like to take your time cloaking and taking the perfect sniper shot. As a soldier you specialize in primarily ammo types so its pritty much just choose the correct ammo for the current mob, kill it, move on. im on my second soldier now and i must say i like it :), i like going in first and holding them in one spot while my squad nukes away. partner up with an engineer and ull have fun :).

Well I loved adrenaline rush on soldier - it has 3sec cooldown and I could easily get 3 head****s with sniper rifle during the duration. Also I had reave as my biotic power so it was fun. Although you do lack lowers and will mainyl kill with guns (as a soldier). I played only as soldier so only know it, can't comment on infiltrator, but heard people liked it - but it all depends on your taste.

I started my 2nd run as an Infiltrator. It is fun.

As a Soldier though, when you max out Adenaline Rush, take the health bonus. It's just better.

Infiltrator is great. Their ammo powers are pretty weak, but the time slowdown when they use their sniper rifle, combined with packing Incinerate as a default skill, makes them pretty good. They may not be able to put down a charging krogan on Insanity, but Tactical Cloak allows them to re-position.

Soldier is superior to infiltrator in every way IMO. I played an infiltrator for my first playthrough and cloak wasn't nearly as useful as I thought it would be. Soldiers can use every weapon, have a superior time dilation effect to the infiltrator, plus have their own abilities. I used a soldier for my second playthrough and had a blast.

ok i just wanted to say this even though this is a month old so it may be to late i heard from a friend on xbox live that later on infiltator get a ability that lets it pick extra weapons i think they also told me because of this ability can get all the weapons like soldier or atleast almost all weapons also what abilitys does the soldier have there one of the only classes that has no biotics so what abilitys that are that useful besides adrenaline rush i have to admit that looks like a good ability but so far i can only use it to get 2 heads shots when the enemy's are near each other and the reason i have saying this is because i cant decide what to pick first i wasnt sure what to pick either sentinal or soldier but then i heard about all the stuff i told you about with infiltator so i may want to try that now and possibly even engineer because now that i think of it being able to use robots to help you and hack and machines you find sounds cool that being said i still think enginner wouldnt be as good as sentinal infiltator or soldier so i want to learn more about soldier and infiltator first before i decide and while i am typing this even though this may be the wrong forum for this i would like to know what are the differences between soldier and sentinal since because i thought this post would help me decide which one to pick infiltator or soldier

Compared to each other, the infiltrator really has no advantage over a soldier. Infiltrator is also pretty weaksauce compared to soldier for the first half of the game. They catch up later, but not entirely.

Infriltrator all the way, cloak with the tempest or flamethrower is lethal. It's also useful for firing the cain whilst cloked.

Infriltrator's are much more fun to play with then Soldiers imho, especailly now they have the Locust SMG, which I'd say is nearly as good as the vindicator.

With the Widow, infriltrator=a blast. Maybe they're weaker then the soldiers, but I find it a more interesting and fun experience.

Having two shepard's, one Infiltrator and one Soldier, I have to say the soldier class is just plain boring in comparison.

Nearly as good as the vindicator? Har, har.

Vindicator is the best weapon in the game if you have some decent FPS skills.

From the videos I've seen, it acxtually looks like a reincarnation of the geth pusle rifle. Low recoil, high accuracy, good shield killer, but weak on health/armor. Basically a tempest you don't have to babysit the recoi on. Big deal.

I think the Kasumi DLC actually is better for the solider(even though they can't use the locust) because of those flashbangers. Fills in the closest thing to a weakness the soldier has.

Well they're both good. It depends on your play-style.
If you like to use sniper rifles to kill your enemies from distance then Infiltrator is better.
But if you wanna more "action-style" and use assault rifles then Soldier is better.

Well I played as both, and I gotta say I enjoyed the Infiltrator a little more. They're both fun classes, but tactical cloak and incinerate are awesome. AI hacking comes in handy sometimes too.

I disagree 100%.

Only the soldier has high enough bullet efficiency and raw damage to use the sniper rifle almost exlcusively.

As strange as it sounds, the soldier is a better sniper than an infiltrator. At least on insanity. Maybe on a casual setting they come closer to breaking even.

Soldier.
Great class and for me the most fun. Feels more like Shepard to me too, as he/she is running around with half an armoury on his back.
Plus concussive shot has got some real oomph to it.

Also, It's nice to be able to use ANY weapon. Up close? Pull out the shotgun, distant? Snipe.
You can do anything.

My paragon character is a Soldier and it was a fun playthrough. My primary weapon was the Revenant and main switch was the heavy pistol.I had fun playing with him. The Soldier allows you to draw a lot of attention while your other characters grab attention.

My renegade character is an infiltrator. To be honest this was my favorite class. I completed my insane playthrough using an infiltrator. With the Cloak, the Widow and warp ammo, you are a god. Don't let the adreneline rush number crunchers tell you any different. They want you to believe a Soldier with the Viper is better than an Infiltrator with the Widow. Don't make me laugh. Ha Ha. Once you learn how to play with an Infiltrator, you will own the battlefield, period. The only weakness for the Infiltrator will be Husk or being swamped by enemies. But now that Kasumi has brought you a new smg, that problem has effectively been nullified.

Your main switch waa from the revenant to the heavy pistol? LOL. You never heard of the viper? Doesn't sound much like you payed a soldier.

And there is no esoteric viper number crunching needed -- a soldier is better with the viper OR the widow. And you can one shot things infiltrators could only dream of one shotting. And, best of all, you can even do it from the beginning of the game until the end. You don't have to wait halfway through the game.
