Already posted this on the old forum. I'll crosspost it here, as this thread appears to be a bit more read...

I have a problem with the Toolset installer... it won't finish. I'm running on Windows XP (user has administrator rights). The install appears to go fine, until it arrives at:

Execute: regsvr32.exe /s "G:\\Dragon Age\\tools\\Engine.dll"

Then the install just seems to freeze (meaning, after 2 hours of waiting, it was still at that very same line, not progressing anymore).

Can I just kill the installer and do that one line manually, or is there more to come after this?

[Edit] tried it, doesn't work. Toolset won't start. Rebooted my PC, disabled my firewall (just to be sure), retried the install, it freezes at the exactly same spot :(

Issues with resaving a saved game file, wanted to add new companions but when i enable them with 1.

Upon saving the game it adds -1 which removes the party player from the game.

The solution to this issue can be found in the following thread:

That should do the trick for you.

This may seem odd, but what's the reason behind only PC users getting to download the toolset? I'm a registered console user and would've liked to give it a whirl.

The toolset requires game components in order to run and to test what you are doing  to even see if if your content works.  Without the game installed on your PC there is not a whole lot  you can do with the toolset.  Additionally, there is no way to get custom content from your PC to your console, so you would not even be able to play with the stuff you modified or created unless you were on the PC vesrion anyway.

Ah, I might've guessed your first point; thank you for confirming it.  To your second though: in fairness I don't care much if I could play my own mods on my console.  I simply like to create (and following that, to share said creations).  Ah well, it's moot at best.
Thanks for the info though.

My first though was, geez - you dont use the x-box to make game, its a gaming machine not a toll like the pc that is both.

But you actually have a good point here, why not make a mapeditor atleast for the x-box ?
You guys pay more money for the game and get less for it ?

At the moment it seems the most powerful thing the toolset does is wipe all your saves, so for the moment you are the lucky one.

i got it downloaded.. i remember i got a error when i downloaded that a file in system 32 couldn't be changed...

I uninstalled the toolset and SQL but i got same error..

error when i downloaded that SQL :

Windows installer service cannot update the system file C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\WINDOWS\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\system32\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\msxm6r.dll because the file is protected by windows. You may need to update your operating system for this program to work correctly

btw i got Microsoft .NET framework 3.0 service pack 2 & NET framework 3.5 SP1 which is service pack 3 right?

I am realy excited to see what some people can come up with.  Most user created content is only ok at best but every so often you get someone who can think up and push things in ways even the developers didn't think of.

I'll try my best. I can't wait to get into cutscenes, because I'm an animation student, and the cutscene editor, with multiple cameras, really does look and feel like the way I create different cameras in the 3d-modeling program I use at college. This toolset looks so exciting!

can someone tell me how strong especially the cutscene editor is? would it be possible to create something like a complex fight with it? or do i just drag premade animations on the charakters?

To would-be mod creators: Think about a small Wheel Of Time based mod. All the elements are there! We even have a tainted but powerful magic! clean the taint! Make the King Demandred! or is he Matrim Taim? Gathering Storm is out and is awesome for fellow WoT fans.
