I want to play through solo on nightmare, but I don't want to miss out on content that requires you to at least engage a character.  Leliana's side-quest being one example.  If people can write here what quests they can think of that are not truly solo but can be done without allowing the characters to fight (I'd stealth leliana in the encounter for her quest so she doesn't get tangled in the fight, for example) thus allowing it to be solo in regards to battle, that would be helpful.

Just delete their tactics and use hold position.

That's no good since the character could draw hate, unintentionally sponging off some of the damage from my main pc.

How would you handle the Deep Roads with Oghren? Isn't he force in your party?

You can try de-equipping any forced companions. They gain less threat. I had to do that for Ishal Ogre and the Kocari Shade.

Disable their tactics and set behaviour to cautious.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to do this? I know people do, but I get so much enjoyment out of the companions, I've never understood. It was lonely in the fade!

Challenge. When I played my 1st playthru, I was thinking "solo? nah too boring and frustrating". After 3 playthrus, the story varies little + companions are more or less the same. Therefore on my 4th playthru, nm solo aw/bm (which btw is still the easiest class to solo).

Your views may change too in further playthrus.

Wouldn't surprise me, you can get the best defense in the game by far.
