I had the same Problem.
I uninstalled all .NET, reinstalled .NET 2.0
And I MUST stop the mySQL-Service!!
Now the Installer has no problem anymore, and could install the MSSQL-Server properly. I think both SQL-Server have problems on one machine.
I had MySql installed with XAMPP.
