I heard about new DLC, I dont have the game, and there is no download thing. I heard you have to have the game... But I am getting in the mail soon.... I hope...Do I have to buy cerberus when I get the game?
What does it do? Does it come with a lot of content like it says?

If you preordered, the package should have a card in it with a code on the back. Redeem it and new DLC unlocks for you on the website.

If you did not preorder, I believe it's about $15 USD.

You don't have to preorder it to get the code. You get it every time you buy an unopened copy of the game. Also, after you use the code, it will still say that the Cerberus Network isn't purchased and you might pay 15 dollars for it after you've already gotten it and then you might cry yourself to sleep, just like me, Bender.

What....?So I put in a code and still might have to pay? Now I am more confused.

Also, what is the network and what does it come with?

Well if you use the code, you unlock the network but at the beginning of the game where it shows the Cerberus Network stuff, it says that it's unpurchased so don't be an idiot like me and end up buying it again >.>

And what the network actually is:  It's DLC that comes out every once in a while and it already has armor, a new squad character, and a couple of missions on it.  Soon, it will have other awesome things.

To use the network you have to do 2 things. Buy the game new or buy the $15 code. You also have to have an EA account. The fact you are posting here shows me you have the EA account.

When you get the game, install it like normal. Start the game up, when you start it (as long as you have an internet connection at the time) it will prompt you to tie in the Cerberus Code to the EA account and use that account on your PC. After that it will give you a prompt on the start screen to download the new content when it becomes available. So far we have:

Zaeed (party member) and his loyalty mission

Normandy Crash Site

M22a Eviscerator Shotgun (great weapon)

Cerberus Assault Armor

with the Hammerhead and other missions coming soon.

It's a free passport that is if you bought the game new otherwise you have to pay 1200mp if you don't have the redeem card that comes with the game i.e. if you bought the game used. you will receive from time to time DLC content like armor weapon ect. please note you need to register the game on this very website for extra content as well. as for actual future new quest/areas that's not know at this time my guess we will have to pay 400-800mp for such content.

Good luck on the CE.

Ordering RPG ce's late isnt a good thing.

Bioware and Beth Soft CE's tend to sell out totally.

I wonder if anyone who has used the cerberus network can help me out, I rarely use xbox live and a few months ago i used it at a friends house to play halo, recovering my account there, but i didnt recover it back to my own xbox later. I recently purchsed some microsoft points to get the mass effect dlc, and im about to try to redeem the points and buy it, however my gamertag says it was recovered on another console so it is invalid. I know my acheievments will be stripped away if i do this and revert to the several month old account from microsofts server, then I will lose for example the ability to learn my other party members special abilities as that is tied to the achievements from the loyalty missions. If I redeem the points and purchase the cerberus network from another account and download the dlc will it be available from my other profile offline? thanks in advance

You mean to say that without the Cerberus network I will be unable to play future missions/DLCs?

Or do you mean to say that as long as you have the Cerberus network, whatever missions and stuff that come through it are free? Do you still have to pay for stuff coming through the Cerberus network?

I admit I do not have the Cerberus network and I am contemplating to buy it....but only if it is worth it....i.e. new characters only can be accessed via the network?

This Cerberus network thing is confusing....what is the difference between the Cerberus network and normal DLCs?

After we answer your questions, I'm going to lay this old thread to rest

No, you do not need the Cerberus Network to play "Premium DLC"

Premium DLC is DLC that you have to pay for.
Cerberus Network DLC (CB DLC) is DLC that comes "free" if you pay for Cerberus Network [1200 points] or if you plug in a code that is inside every new copy of Mass Effect 2

Or do you mean to say that as long as you have the Cerberus network, whatever missions and stuff that come through it are free? Do you still have to pay for stuff coming through the Cerberus network?

Here's an article that might shed some light:

"Premium DLC " includes:

ME: Arrival 560pts
Lair of the Shadow Broker 800pts
ME:Overlord 560
Kasumi : New squadmate 560pts
Firepower Weapon Pack 160pts
Aegis Armor Pack 160pts
Equalizer Armor Pack 160pts

Cerberus Network DLC 1200pts   includes

Hammerhead; 3 Short Missions with a hover tank
Zaeed New Squadmate
Cerberus Armor and Shotgun
Normandy Crash Site mission
Arc Projector Heavy Weapon

http://masseffect.wi...erberus_Network

If you ask me, I think it's worth it to have all the DLC for Mass Effect 2. All told, the DLC together means 5gbs, essentially a whole nother game. For 1200 points, it's a bit pricy but it was intended as a punishment to those who did not buy Mass Effect 2 brand new, as every new copy contains a free code for cerberus Network

*sighs* I wish they'd come out with a DLC pack, that came with all this stuff all together, but at a lower price, even for a weekend

Not sure what you're asking here. None of those are on the Cerberus Network, you have to pay for all of them. Or are you asking about what's in them? Might be better to start a new topic with your exact question and what platform you're playing on etc.

The Necro is strong with this one. Genesis and AltAppPacks are not part of Cerberus Network.
