My response to Morinth's character was always, "I wish my morals allowed me to let you live."
The funny thing about that situation for me is that I hated being stuck with a veritable cop with an all-or-nothing vengeful complex. No meta-gaming (well a little to be stated later) involved I thought that Morinth would be better because I honestly thought that she would target Shepard and Shepard only. Or at least I hoped she would. The fact that she does only go for Shepard allowed me to choose her over Samara in every subsequent run since my first. I don't need someone so seemingly hellbent on taking out anything and everything in her path just to pursue one individual. Especially in the case of police officers who may just be about doing their job to protect and serve.
Also the knowledge that Samara razed an entire village save for the children of said village doesn't come close to helping Samara look good in my eyes. Even if Morinth is what she's made out to believe, Samara's killing of all Asari adults in that village could mount in the thousands. That's easily a good chunk of lives Morinth may have taken in 400 years. Considering the very possible idea that Morinth is very careful about her victims I wouldn't be surprised if that culling of Samara's outdoes Morinth's bodycount. Maybe even by a wide margin.

You have discussion of your favorite character going fairly well, but I'd also encourage you guys to present any fan-created works about the series to your other forumites!

Still, it would be interesting to see her developed forther, and if her ways could be changed in ME3.

BW felt no qualms in using a cheap plot-device ('erbs and Anti-Biotics???) to further a Tali-romance..
Sooo I do not see any problems in plotting a way in finding a cure for Morinth. Maybe something found on an undiscovered planet beyond the Omega 4 relay? Even the Asari haven't gone beyond that. They could even include a bit about how Morinth suddenly discovers that killing by smooching doesn't do anything anymore for her. Or a full redemption bit ,where she uses her -now controllable tnx to giant Mc Guffin- power as a justicar, to follow in her mother's footsteps?
'S just an idea...
I killed Morinth off in every play through though.... 1 psycho (Jack) is enough.

the only good thing about Morinth is the voice actress (she is also beautiful). As for her character, there is nothing good about morinth.
She's a good character, but the character is not a good person.
Though they put very little effort into fleshing her out, and it shows. The only reason I even care about her is because Samara is such a Sue.

Morinth is a perfect predator. She knows it and doesn't try to be something she's not. This is a lot more than can be said about many of the new normandy crew.I wish they would have fleshed her out more, though the way she is implemented as a stupid-bait for horny teenagers makes me chuckleHope she makes a return in ME3.Even if to kill more stupid, horny teenagers
Not being confrontational: What does that mean for those of us who aren't "horny teenagers" who do like Morinth as a character and find her interesting?

The part about horny teenagers was pointed at people who didn't see that she was setting you up for the kill the whole time and went for the booty instead of using their brains. In other words those who experienced death by snu snu.I like her as a character too you know.Like Zaeed (another fave) she doesn't try to justify her existance or what she does. She just does it and gets stronger by it.No whiny moral dilemmas or dwelling on sob stories(even though she could, knowing her background), she pushes forward with the cards dealt to her making the best of it.

I don't think Morinth will have much of a role to play in ME3, but does anyone care to speculate?
Samara says Ardat Yakshi are rare, but comes into conflict with what we are told in-game. I'd rather not use the codex to support a potential cause for Morinth given the nature of the codex in ME2 as opposed to ME, but since a character in-game supports the codex I'm fine with entertaining my idea.
According to the Turian on the Citadel there is an Ardat Yaksi Monastery. The codex states something along the lines of "contrary to popular belief, Ardat Yakshi aren't really rare". My thinking is Morinth has sisters in the Ardat Yakshi conclave among others who were given the same choice as she was: live in seclusion or die. Morinth ran away because she thought it was unfair to be given such a choice. Keep in mind that at 106(?) Liara states that she is still considered a child. Morinth runs away at 40. At least 60 years younger than Liara Morinth is given a choice to live locked away or killed. Though the reasoning is different imagine telling a 10 year-old something along the lines of what Morinth was told and then asked which choice they want.
I would like for Morinth to have been spending her time looking for ways to improve her condition so that she can control her urges or eradicate them completely so she and others like her can live lives as close to normal for the Asari. It's what I think about when I imagine that Morinth spent most of her time on Asari worlds. I seriously doubt Bioware would write that kind of story, but it's one I'd definitely appreciate.

Jack, on the other hand, is a cold blooded killer. The conversation with her and Miranda at the end of her mission on Purg. left me shaking my head aswell. However, unlike Morinth, she can still be "saved." Her loyalty mission proves that, to a degree. Im not condoning Jacks actions, but i can understand them.

"A tragic figure, but not a sympathetic one" indeed...
Morinth is an interesting character, but suffers from being essentially an accessory to Samara's story. The fact that all she cares to talk about once you bring her onboard is how unfairly her daughter (and the universe) treated her doesn't help: she comes across as an ungrateful adolescent, blaming all her troubles on the outside world and never acknowledging her own faults. That doesn't speak too well regarding any intent Morinth might ever have of "atoning" somehow for the lives she took.
Interestingly, Samara speaks lovingly of her deceased daughter. It's the generational gap spun out of control...
