Ignore the obvious lies she spews prior to the horrific brain melting "sex". Notice the smug smile on her face as Shepard is killed. Notice the look of pure pain on Shepard face before he falls to the ground, dead for doing the dumbest thing imaginable. She just killed a living legend to satisfy her own selfish needs. She was toying with Shepard the whole time just so she could kill him. Regardless of anything you say, this one scene proves just how bad she his.

You do know that the closest feeling to pleasure is pain right? And if you cause pain and pleasure at the same time they cancel eachother out? How do you know thats a face of pain and not that shepard just ****'d in his pants(pun intended)

Dear god you still think you can defend her. Fine, maybe she is causing incredibly pleasure in addition to incredible pain. But does it matter? Hell no. She is still killing you, hero of the galaxy, to satisfy her own slefish needs. She manipulates and lies to get what she wants, and she enjoys it. So it doesn't really matter how enjoyable the experience is. She is still killing you. She is a horrible person. And no, Jack or Zaeed also being potentially horrible people does not make her any better.

She gave them love, which is what they've always wanted, and never had.    People have done stupider things then love then loving morinth.

I'm not defending her as a person, I'm defending her as an character.   I enjoy house.   If house was a physcian,   I  would sue.    ZOMG I AM SUCH A CONTRARY PERSON.    My reasoning is grounded in theoretics, not practicality, because she theory.   An ideal.    A beuatiful ideal.

She is what she was born to be. She does what she was born to do, and dies for being born that way if Shepard so chooses. Calling her "evil" is pointless - she is an addict, one who has been fueling her own addiction for 400 years. Most addictions don't cost the lives of others, true, but even listening to Samara's explanation of her daughters' condition shows that it's not as simple as "she's a raging serial killer."

The fact that so many people hate her with such a violent passion just shows me what a great character she is.

My greatest regret is that Shepard couldn't kill her himself. Pulling her arm and letting Samara put the whammy on her just isn't enough.

Theirs no suggestion she isn't willing to change.

Perhaps that is because she doesn't give a crap nor see that she is doing anythign wrong?

YOu want to see her as a victim of Fruedian issues that wants to change if you find her daddy issues that triggered her problem. She isn't, that is why it she isn't just another serial killer that the Asari wouldn't bother to hide. She needed to be hidden from the galaxy by the Asari because she is what she is, no regrets, no therapists will change her. She is genetically a killer, and once she has killed she hungers to do it more.

She isn't sorry, she is just a tiger or a lion, hunting and killing because thats what she does.

I really wish I could blow you brain right now.

The human brain also doesn't have pleasure receptors in it either if you want to go that far, a stroke victim can tell you getting a stroke wasn't pleasant, exploding brains aren't pleasurable either.

And Its only in the brain so no the body wouldnt be affected by the hemorrhage.

'cept for the whole, ya' know... body being dead thing

You are to snowed in on the whole: SHES EVUL LULLUL thing to actually consider her hoping for a normal relationship.

I like Morinth. Yes, she's ruthless. Yes, she's sadistic. But unlike most of your squad, she's very in touch with who she is and what she wants. You're not going to get a whole lot of emotional baggage with her on the squad and nothing you say to her can change who/what she is. She has done horrible things, but as her mother says, she made her decision long ago, and she doesn't have any regrets. Not many people can say that. If you ask me, she has one of the strongest personalities in the game.

So being the typical teenager with no sense of responsibility but just full of angsts, rage, and parental hatred is a strong personality?

Morinth is just like any other adolescent, except she kills.

Developed characters make mistakes, have regrets, hates, likes. A character that is like "pfft whatever my opinion is the only one that counts" aren't very well-written.

You know what?   I'm not going to argue with the stuff you've posted.

So what if she is?

"Shes femme fatale made incarnate.      A literal avatar of predacious
love, untouchable in its vivacious primality"

Their are other reasons beyond my liking of her, more strong and poetic ones stated in my OP, but this is good enough to be a retort.

If you want to go into literary critiscism, no character in ME2 was "well written".    Its like they took archetypes, then gave them clothes.

You want my brain to explode and you are calling me immature? How nice. Stroke victims feel pain because the affected brain area often controlls a part of the body therefore they feel pain in that body part but not in the brain you muppet.
And no most of the the pleasure receptors are in the spine but the spine is linked with the brain so its the same. A human brain doesnt "feel" its own pain its a medical fact so no point discussing it anymore dude lol

Loved Morinth. Would be great if Shepard could find a way to survive being with her. Much more sympathetic character than that soulless harpy Samara.

Here's an idea:

"Please don't do the emotional meld thing while we have sex, kay?"

The acts aren't necessary to one another.

I can see the comparison, but Morinth is a little more emotionally stable than the average teenager. She's not really rebelling against her mother, either. She just likes killing.

I agree, and it's nice to see someone else doesn't view her as a remorseful victim of her genetics or an angsty teenager. To those who do see her as either of those: fair enough, I just don't see it.

She presents it as pleasurable, I imagine it as being pleasurable, scientifically, being pleasurable is the logical conclusion.    The actual hemoraging of blood vessels within the brain is painless due to lack of nerves.    If it was a massive hemorage (due to the fatality rate and the severity of the brain damage, it is), the person undergoes higher function death before pain that is a result of hemohraging occurs.

Plus, depriving your brain of oxygen is extremely unpleasurable, but strangling yourself while masturbating is apparently, extremely pleasurable.     (forgot the term.    Decided to wiki "mastubation, and I was given a picture of a male anally fisting.    THANK YOU WIKIPEDIA I APPRECIATE IT, as well as no reference to it.)
gah I also can't spell hemoraghing, and broken forums that break firefox is no halp  :crying:

edit:

Just popped into my brain.   Autoerotic Masturbation.   Thats it.

I don't think its voluntary.

I don't think the Asari consort would make a habit of banging clients if she was giving them access to her mind every time she did it. Besides, Liara flat out says that sex isn't a part of "the union", just that it "may" be involved.

Now, I guess it's probably different for the vampire asari because otherwise there's not as much angst but, still, the fact a Randy Renegade Shep can't even bring it up is a kind of funny.

As for Morinth, I'd be more than happy for her to join Shepard's squad... if it didn't mean KILLING a very experienced Justicar who is already sworn to his cause and who he knows won't betraya him. Just seems a bit silly to shoot a mongoose in the hand for a viper in the bush.

If I could have both? Sure. One or the other? Samara.
