I hate the human council the most though, I purposely killed the original council to put humans in power and they dont even want to talk with you. At least the old council had the balls to diss you in the (holographic) face.
Of the squadmates, I hated Miranda the most, such a Cerberus fangirl
Jack is awesome simply because her shockwave would take out waves of husks and i didnt have to waste much time or ammo.

Ashley and Kaidan. I hated our reunions.
"You're working for Cerebrus? I know you saved my life 300 times, I know we were best friends and/or lovers, and I know you saved the entire Galaxy with me at your side and chose to save me instead of another squad mate on Virmire, but I CAN'T TRUST YOU YOU CEREBRUS PIG."
Who in God's name would stay loyal to either of them after that reunion. I mean, Liara becomes a total bad ass. "Sorry, Shepard, I can't help you save the Galaxy, I'm too busy replacing the Shadow Broker and making oodles of money." Meanwhile, Ashley and Kaidan: "Sorry, Shepard, I'd love to go save the Galaxy with you but I'd rather the Reapers won than have to work with Cerebrus. I know I spent 90% of my time with you complaining how humans are the best and aliens can bite my white armored rear, but really any organization that actually lives by my own values is so evil that I'd rather millions of humans die and the galaxy be taken over by machines than have to associate myself with said corporation."
Thanks, guys. I should have left both of you on Virmire. At least Wrex and Liara are doing something productive.
This again? Really?
I honestly think they have the right to be pissed off. Shepard just suddenly walks back into their lives, after two years and greets them casually as if he's been gone for two days. Of course you would be angry to see someone who you were loyal to, or maybe even loved, suddenly just waltz in and not only be now working for a shady terrorist organisation that is the arch enemy of everything the two of you ever stood for or believed in... but is now asking you to essentially abandon everything you have ever worked to achieve in your life to go serve with them, someone who you had just spent the last two years of your life trying to forget existed.
Within a three minute conversation.
How would YOU respond in this situation?
"Yes Shepard, my god you are awesome. I can totally just overlook the fact that you are back in my life after two emotionally hellish years of trying to move on because if I didn't that would be an inconvienience to you, my lord. Screw my plans or any of my loyalties, I will just drop everything and go join an organisation famed for evil and in so doing go against everything I've ever believed in and betray my family legacy and obligation to serve the Alliance. Hey weren't you the one who taught me to be trusting of aliens in the first place? Who encouraged me to open my mind towards working with other races and made me proud to fight alongside them, then why are you now working for Cerberus which is famed for terrorist acts against alien races and an ideology suggesting humanity is superior?
Ahhh nevermind then, you probably have your reasons and I should totally trust them, after all two years isn't that long of not knowing if you were alive or dead and I see no reason whatsoever to doubt your awesomeness now my royal king. In fact you are so great I won't even ask why you never considered rejoning the Alliance to be an option or why even in the few weeks after being ressurrected you never once tried to contact me so that I could stop grieving and suffering, because living in the past is for squares daddy-o!
Now if you'll excuse me I'll just start packing and on the way there please make love to me a hundred times over so I can bathe in a shower of your infallible perfection!!!"
... now I'm obviously exaggerating a little but honestly from where I stand that seems to be what the average gamer expected them to be like. On Horizon that encounter was entirely believable and be it Ashley or Kaidan I didn't blame them for not bowing at Shepard's feet when they got the chance.
Besides if you romance them they do send a letter later apologising, which admittedly is not much but it at least demonstrates that they understand what you are trying to do and trust that you can get it done and voice regret that their loyalties prevent them from going where you are going.
From where I stand the only person who was a moron on Horizon was Shepard... and possibly all the egotists who couldn't handle the idea of an NPC who isn't intoxicated by their seemingly divine greatness.
LONG TIME COMING EDIT: Also stop comparing Ashley's stance on aliens to Cerberus. The Hatedom she gets has now reached the point where it's just overblown to the point of ridiculous. Ashley doesn't think humanity should rely solely on aliens for support because she believes that when push comes to shove the Council races will abandon humanity in favor for protecting themselves. This isn't anything to do with ideals of racial superiority or a desire for power or dominance or even much in the way of genuine hatred.
This is just cynical realism.
Cerberus meanwhile has the reputation of being a group that is radically pro humanity and isn't after just the security and protection of the human race but also the ascension and domination of humans over the other races in the galaxy. They have a reputation for racial extremist actions and unethical experiments and genuine acts of terrorism.
Ashley's views=/= Cerberus views
/rant
..... wow, were did I go just now?
Okay anyway part of me is tempted to say Miranda on the basis that the pushed Ashley to the side just so that the camera could hover over her arse in about nine tenths of every conversation and scene that she has but obviously that's just her implemention that annoyed me.
I honestly think that the most hated has to be Morinith as far as I'm concerned. She is an evil heartless monster who preys on people and kills and destroys lives seemingly for sport.
I loathe her.

AGREED! I actually got her killed/DEAD in one play thru AFTER she gave TIM the finger and quit (too late) that I'm keeping for ME3,she's gonna die a lot more times.Mr.Kusy wrote...
AND THE WINNER IS... MRS. MIRANDA LAWSON... or whatever her name was anyways.
Miranda: "Shepard, we need to help my sister... she's just like me"
Shepard: "Oh fuuu... there are more of you? Your father must be an evil man."
Shepard: "What the hell... you never told me she was a baby... you stole a baby, are you normal?"
Miranda: "Um... you don't understand"
Shepard: "Sure I don't. If I would - I'd be woried about myself"
Hell... talking with Legion was more emotionaly involving than talking with her... and he's a machine. Probobly talking with the flushable toilet or the pissing turian would be too.
Legion is the most "normal" squadmate of the entire bunch + there are 7 meaningful conversations with him in the AI core. Grunt has some of the funniest lines along with being Shepard's right hand killing machine, HE actually will shoot the Human reaper and not hide in cover and let Shep do all the work!

Admiral Michailovich, I like telling him to ****** off, it is enjoyable. Zaeed. Killing him was just downright awesome. Typical mercenary. Oh, and Harbinger. Sovereign and Saren were badass (I guess that makes Harbinger the better villain.)

Im beginning to suspect that all the Jacob haters are racist seriously. His character is not the best, but he is 100 times better than Kaiden, if you don't agree it just proves my point even more. And imo he is the character with the views most like mine. He is far from the best character though, but also far from the worst.
Worst character for me is Samara/Morinth i don't really know why, i just don't like them at all.
I hope you're joking. You're willing to accuse other posters of racism, just because they don't like a character? No one even mentioned his skin colour until you came along. ¬_¬

Jacob - I can understand why people don't like Jacob. I personally find him to be a better character than Kaiden was. He has a great backstory and decent conversations (unless you're romancing him, I hear), but the fact that he doesn't trust what Cerberus is up to rates him high in my book.
Miranda - Okay....first impression of Miranda? She needs a good wake-up call and to not be such an Ice Queen. But....after she approaches you about her personal mission, you actually see there's a person underneath the uniform and the façade. Also....if she's with you at the end when you blow up the Collector base, she gets ordered to blow it up for him and she basically tells him to consider her refusal as her resignation.
Tali - As much as I love Tali, I agree with Fenris. Somewhere between ME 1 and ME 2 she lost her way a bit. I understand the fear of the Geth for what they did, but after the conversations you have with Legion, I'm not so convinced they're the "evil race" they're made out to be.
Garrus - Okay....Garrus is my bro....but like Tali, he too lost is way a bit. Yes, you can correct this by going Paragon, but I was a bit disenheartened to see he went back to his "by any means" way. Granted, the people his organization were taking out were evil....but still.
Samara - Samara's code really gives me pause. She sees the world in terms of black and white, which isn't cool. She is a great biotic and a decent shot with a rifle. I think if she actually warmed up just slightly, she'd be a lot better.
Ashley - Ash used to be pretty cool....until you saw her true colors in ME 2. Tali...who has every reason to hate Cerberus, trusts in your judgement. Ash, just because she's Alliance and doesn't like Cerberus, will brand you as an automatic traitor and not trust in your judgement.
Kaiden - I found Kaiden's character to be about as exciting as watching paint dry. This makes me kinda sad, seeing as how I loved his Voice Actor, who did both Carth and Alistair. Let me highlight the following statement, so no one can misread me: I don't understand why everyone is saying Kaiden is whiny. He's not whiny; he's just boring. To me, he just needs to be re-worked from the ground up.
Liara - Okay....I may not be the biggest Liara fan. In ME 1, I found her to be way to naieve and far too inexperienced to be an actual squad member. When I ran into her again in ME 2, I found her to be much more interesting and a better grip on things and how to handle herself. Never used her in ME 1, but if she's included in ME 3 as a squad member, I'll be using her if she's still the way she is now.
And finally......
Kelly - .....I don't care for Kelly. I can't explain it, but she just sounds like some sort of teenager whenever she speaks. I blame it on the poor dialog writing because when she opens her mouth, I keep expecting to hear "like, oh my god!" come out. She has potential to be a great character! She just needs better dialog I think written for her.
So....to answer your question, I have to say Ashley, Kaiden and Kelly. Although, Kelly can be remedied easily with some better writing in ME 3.

Let me drop into Kaidan/Alistair fangirlism for a moment to point out that Raphael Sbarge did the voices of Carth and Kaidan, but Steve Valentine did the voice of Alistair in DA:O.

My number two might be a bit more suprising. It's Samara. My paragon only got her because it's the paragon choice.Otherwise she gets to see the inside of an Omega trash compactor.Like Miranda, she rubs me the wrong way.People who are sure they posess the ABSOLUTE TRUTH deserve a good curbstomp and thats exactly what she is getting with my renegade.

I don't understand why people find Kaidan boring. He's a very mellow guy, but he's a real good biotic, and he's got some good insights. His back story is fascinating and I like how malleable he is.
As for Kelly, I totally agree with you. I should've included her in my list.

I've played many times through and usually pick two to team up with for most of the game just to get the full run of their character styles...romanced 'em all too.
Also, from a gameplay point of view it depends on what character type I ultimately decide to team up with. Mostly play Infiltrators and Vanguards...but have played 'em all. Adept was unusually fun but only hit that once.
Zaeed's my favorite tank and Jack's my favorite biotic. Enjoy romancing Kelly cos' ya' get repeated play in the captain's cabin.
I think they should have made Thane a gay like they did for the elf dude in DAO. Would have been more fitting...

1. Grunt. A tank born krogan with puberty issues who is utterly useless to the "plot" of the game and his loyalty mission is....killing stuff, woo. Oh and his krogan charge is utterly useless too. I just leave him in the tank where he belongs. Oh and he is "pure" krogan, yeah does not make any sense.
2. Jacob. Felt he was rather boring and dull and even disses himself after his loyalty mission, I mean wow. Oh and I love it how he doesn't like Thane because he is an assassin a precise mercanary when he was himself, oh the hypocriticalness.
3. Subject "Jack" Zero. Violent, crazy and destructive. Skimpy clothing meant to "show off her character" bad stuff happened in her past and gives her an excuse to commit crimes later on in life? And her romance is nice but she has slept with numerous people, sorry girl but don't hit on me because I am curious plus the fact I might have HIV/AIDS when I sleep with you. Plus, she doesn't make any sense whatsoever. She is also anti-cerberus? Why do we even have a psychologically unstable women who hates cerberus on board?! Man, I don't get TIM sometimes.
4. Kasumi. Just doesn't make sense why is she here. A thief? Seriously? What is she going to do help us steal technology from the Collectors? Well I didn't see her do anything relevant to the "plot". But she is nice to look at, I'll give her that.
5. Thane. An assassin who tries to justify his killings by saying he was "disconnected"? Ok you just rationalize all away because your body did and not your soul? What?! Also him feeling remorse for killing his targets as contradicting as that sounds. His sense of morality is questionable at best. Also he is dying to and so he keeps killing people, why not go stay with your son and be with him until you die?

And there the cake goes to...
Ashley. 1st she tells me that she doesn't like Aliens and her partially violent family stories? A redneck bonehead on MY Normandy? That was hard to tolerate but she WAS effective in combat. Then she shoots Wrex and I was making this face: O_O
So I reloaded, spend my 2 remaining points on charm, saved wrex and left her on Virmire to wait for the nuke to blow. Ashley... Bye!
In ME2 the award goes to Miranda, not because she makes me angry or surprises me badly like Ash did, but because she stands for everything I don't like.
"Perfect" looks, overconfidence and blind obedience to her cerberus superior but questioning my every move.
I was actually really impressed, when I took her on the final mission once and she told TIM to f**k off.
But for both Ash and Miranda, this just shows how well they are written. You can't really cause dislike without giving the player a good cause to do so. At least on my end - thats why I don't get all the Jacob hate. He's just too "normal" for me really like or dislike him. That said, I never experienced the "priiize" line - maybe that tips the balance against his favour.
