Okay, I posted my opinions here about seven or so months ago, and I'd like to reformulate.
My least favourite characters on the Normandy are Jacob, Kelly, Miranda and Tali.
Now, Tali was mah giiirl in ME1 when she was fun, geeky and totally boring me with her stories about quarian society. I was cool with that. I liked that girl. But when she starts talking about genocide as the only solution to the geth I was completely repulsed. That is equally extremist, and equally as wrong as Cerberus' and their human-superiority crap. Had she, like Ashley in ME1 pointed out that in the choice between the quarians and the geth, she would choose the quarians, that I could have accepted. But admitting you want all geth obliterated because they don't want to be slaves? What happened to Tali? What the fffuuu--- happened? She was a bright and open-minded girl in ME1, and much less so in ME2. I want the old, sane Tali back. She lost her head somewhere, and I want to put it back.
As for Jacob, it's not his fault that I don't like him. He had the potential to be a really good character, but he's lacking edge. Everything that was supposed to make him seem like a cool guy made him feel like a creep with a serious attitude-problem. They way he treats people, too. Tali and Thane after recruitment? I never wanted his goddamned opinion, and the things he says about them? Well, f*ck you, Jacob, but they're both better than you. Creep is in your genes, asshole. Besides, he's not good for anything. He dies all the time and he does sh*t for damage. I do like the fact that he doesn't trust Cerberus, though. +1 internets.
As for Miranda, I still find her childish. She has no sense of self, and that pisses me off. The only thing she ever talks about is how her father and Cerberus both played a big part in making her the perfect woman. The only thing perfect about Miranda is her ass(ets.) Her personality is similar to sandpaper, and even in the moments she's supposed to be friendly and sisterly or whatever the f-, she is still stuck up and officious. She practically talks in only backhanded compliments. I did feel for her when I found out about the infertility thing, I know that can be really tough for a woman, but it just points towards one of the MANY imperfections she has. I would have loved those, if she weren't SUPPOSED to be perfect.
Now, Kelly, my sexy, red-headed, fellow pansexual... You are not in high school. You are not my best friend. Stop reading Shepard's emails, and stay away from those fish. Honestly, Kelly weirds me out. I think, as a yeoman, she is supposed to serve an important function, but she just stands there, reading through the personal and impersonal correspondence that Miranda already took her turn with. Not to mention her gossiping and drooling over other crewmembers. Ugh...
I have minor pickles with other characters, too. Such as Grunt. I don't want a baby krogan on my ship. I don't care about his size, or that the tank has imprinted him with all this information to make him functional. He's a teenager, and I really just wanna tuck him into bed and tell him a very gory goodnight-story.
Jack, much as I love her, is very inconsistent as a character. She does and then she doesn't, and that seems to be present in most of her dialogue. I've discussed a lot of that in the Zero Tolerance group, though, so I'm not pulling it out here.
My biggest problem with Mordin is actually the fact that you can't woo him. I'm sure salarians have feelings, even if they don't have sexdrives...
I have only one problem with Thane, and that is his dead wife and estranged son. I'm sure you can figure out why.
Samara, why can't I sleep with you?! D: I know it would be waaay out of character, but it's Shepard! Make an exception! :'(
Morinth, you have died, and will continue to die during all my playthroughs. Congratulations on being the ONLY character in any game EVER that I kill with no remorse, regret or worry. Your mother, with her extremely twisted morals, is vastly superior to you and your addiction to sexual predation.
As for Ashley and Kaidan. I love them both. Even though Ashley was tough, cynical, and painfully realistic, she was hilarious. She felt so real when you interacted with her, even though she tried to remain professional. Kaidan is a bit enigmatic. I don't understand how people found him boring, because he has a lot of input, and is an amazing squadmember. And I loved the fact that he got pissed when he saw Shepard. Obviously he grew some balls while I was gone. And teeth~
tl;dr?
Well, screw you.
