Sad heroes with sad back-stories of sadness give me the gas. Garrus loses his whole squad and all he wants to do is ventilate some dudes skull.

How could you NOT like Garrus?  Image IPB

No no no, Garrus is awesome, he's not all depressed. He just wants to whack the dude that got his squad offed. That's what I would expected a hard-assed soldier or assassin to do!

Not sit there in Life Support and cry quietly because his son doesn't love him.

Or meditate on the nature of sorrow.... Sorrowfully....

If I had to list 3 of them starting with the worse, it would look like this:

Considering only new Normandy teammates:

1. Zaeed - stupid mercenary, not realy more effective in fire ( not tech/skill ) combat than Mordin.

2. Miranda - if she is not a LI ( she would be the last one if I would choose all of them ), she is too proud of herself, confident, a completely oposite of my fav. Tali. :*

3. Jack - her looks, behaviour, totally not speaks to me. Only got a bit affected when she cried at my Shepard's shoulder, but nothing more cool in her.

Considering all old and new teammates:

1. Again Zaeed - same reasons.

2. Kaidan ( neither Kaiden, nor Keidan ) - he were tolerated by me in ME1, but now he became alike hundreds of other "faceless" NPC.

3. Liara - alike Kaidan, she had nice personality in ME1, but now she's worse than Garrus with renegade attitude ( he could fight it, she got carried away - clear for me ).

Then Miranda, next Ashley. Did not liked them from very start. But have to confess, Bio Ware did a good work telling their stories, regardless of that I don't like them much.

Jack. Vulgar and bald headed. Worst of all when you romance her she spends the whole time crying. I wanna leave her on Tuchanka and let the krogans go to town..

I liked most of the main characters. I guess Jacob would be the worst since I haven't downloaded Zaeed yet. Course I was playing as a male Shepard. I think it would get annoying if you kept flirting with Jacob. I'm surprised by how many don't like Jack. I know she is kind of rough around the edges, and she has a lot of issues. But I like you got to prove your not just trying to **** her. Plus she is a nice reference to Pitch Black, and Chronicles of Ridic. I haven't found any threads yet pointing out all the references to other sci universes. I thought Jack was obvious. Course I think Miranda is a Serenity reference, but I've no proof of that.

This is a tough one, either Tali or Zaeed, I can't decide

My favorite characters are easily Mordin and Jack

Jacob is the worst! And it was AWFUL how if Shepard is a girl, she automatically leans back and talks to him all sultry. I didn't talk to him anymore after I saw that the first time. Because I was so not interested in him, but they automatically asume you will be. Give me Garrus any day!

QFT then for no reason (that I know of) he puts off additional convo by saying "We got a good thing going Shepherd, let's not spoil it"  WTF

Zaeed. He would be better if you could actually engage him in conversation instead of just listening to him reminice

At first I didn't hate Miranda, but then in my second playthrough after her fight with Jack I didn't have enough Paragon or Renegade points to make them both happy, so I had to tell Miranda to stuff it. Her baby behavior after that made me hate her real quick. I started going to her office just to tell her to go whine to the Illusive Man. Something about the way she says "Go talk to your friend Jack" just made me think I was dealing with a 13 yr old girl. I was so glad to see her drop dead at the end.

But I believe the thread question asked us to exlude main characters, so I would have to say it's that annoying valley-girl quarian in the bar in Illium talking about her human ex-boyfriend. She, like Miranda, reminds me of a childish girl who thinks only of herself and assumes everyone wants to hear about her.

Garrus. But not the writing, I thought the writing for Garrus was great... I was just so happy after picking up these new guys and working for Cerberus, I was going to get Garrus back... but then he was all bitter and negative. And I took the time to make him positive in ME1. After his loyalty mission he was starting to come around. I loved it.

To be honest, I didn't think anyone could replace Wrex (and I still get all excited when you see him on Tuchanka... "SHEPARD!"), but I really like Grunt too. Sorry, this was supposed to be about who I don't like. Ah well.

Edit:  Non-Main - Fist.  First thing out of my mouth when I saw him on Omega.  "Didn't we kill this guy?"

Im beginning to suspect that all the Jacob haters are racist seriously. His character is not the best, but he is 100 times better than Kaiden, if you don't agree it just proves my point even more. And imo he is the character with the views most like mine. He is far from the best character though, but also far from the worst.

Worst character for me is Samara/Morinth i don't really know why, i just don't like them at all.

Oh yeah, Kaidan was awful, I made him babysit a ticking nuke I liked him so much.

"Watch the clock on that bomb, Kaiden. KTHXBAI!"

Also everyone who disagrees with you must be a racist... There's a way to encourage dialogue...

It's funny how a lot of people don't like Jacob. I don't mind is "sir, yes sir" attitude - but yes he does get bland. Being a gentlemen, his Loyalty mission was really bad in my eyes. His father became a damn Bataarian with the women.

Jack was my least played. After picking her up, listening to her cuss and act like a child - totally unimportant to the mission. She was based on the "Jack" from Chronicles of Riddick, atleast in my eyes. After doing her Loyalty mission right away, I finished up her dialog and never spoke to her the rest of the game. What I noticed in my 5th play through was that she tries to defy Miranda on who should lead the second team.

A lot of the dialog was repeatative and the silence during missions after playing Dragon Age: Origins was a downer. Mordin actually always makes me enjoy running through the ship to talk to companions - he has about 10-12 sayings and you never know which he will say.

Shephard: Do you have a minute to talk?

Mordin: Trying to determine how scale itch got onto NOrmandy. Sexually Transmitted Disease only carried by Varren. -DEEP BREATH- Implications unpleasant.

Or even when he speaks to you about the romance you are commited to. He was one of the best companion additions dialog wise.

Grunt, he just annoying as hell, wish I would have left him in stasis.

Jack is a pain because she such a drama queen, anything bad that ever happened happened to her first and worse.

Samara, her only redeeming line was when she told me something like: she would have to kill me if she survived the suicide mission.

Favorite Moridin, he has the best lines and the moral compass of a politian.

And Legion. I wish I could remember who wanted me to bring them a Geth head for a desklamp, i'd introduce them.

Least

Ashley, I left her with a nuke because of her whine and complaining routine.

Zaeed because of the way his loyalty mission went. He said he would let the people burn and then made the mistake of saying he would get me in my sleep. If I had my way he would never have left that place.

Best liked Mordin, Joker and the ship engineers for being funny.

I use him for squad incendiary ammo untill i got Grunt. After that he is just a worse version of Grunt. Although pull > concussive shot imo, he dies easier. If it wasn't for Grunt though, he is pretty good if you dont have any ammo powers on Shepard.

I liked all characters...but just not the way love-interests where implemented for the other gender or if you didn't romanced them. Also if just everything was done(Grunt for example).
Except:
Jacob: If you play a male shepard and ask him later to talk, he says he's fine and if they survive they'll spill some drinks in the citadel.
Grunt:"Battlemaster, I have everything."

Most annoying was Tali, although I like her in Story and Character-design:
My male Shepard let her stay a member of the migrant-fleet, no exile, and helped her with everything.
When she flirted at the Shep, I choose"I'm not interested." and Shep was polite and all.
After that, all she ever said when I choose "talking", was that she needed to clean the engine.
Wth?!
If I had talked to her more often, the Collectors would have died on instant after their oculus-drones blew a whole in the cargo-bay.
Because the cleaned engine would have been so clean, that it's reflective surface would have reflected such a "it's-clean-ray"(that 'blink' in cleaning-commercials) that it would have vaporized them on instant!
I can understand Garrus and Miranda who have much to do(weapon-calibration and office-work), but Tali always cleans the engine.
It should be so clean by now, that she can live there without her enviro-suit!
