I just got a copy o mass effect 2 and let me say I love the original one.The sequel ,even though I like the story line the changes to the original game play kind of suck. They should have left the weapons ,hardsuit and other items in the degree wheel to be upgraded like the original game.Plus you can tell they try to cut cost on the way the game plays. Like when the guns shoot it looks like Star wars while in the original game it gave you a sense that everything IS advance. The weapons overheating was better than this cooling clips crap.It was more realistic in future space technology kind o sense, it seems like five steps backward. I like the way you can scan the planets but they should have let you land and drive the rover or go on foot like the previous game.I for one thought the planets were beautiful and the sound effects for guns, planets, and other things I cant remember from the top of my head were original. AS soon as I seen EA on the game case I thought oh **** they messed the game up. Trust me I played a lot of EA games and they always seem to have some wacky game play or redicoulus story line or addition.Even the new characters seem to be larger than life as if EA was trying to over shadow Sam shepard.I think being able to make Shepard into almost superman in the previous game was cool. from combining the right upgrades onto his hardsuit so that you can withstand almost anything to adding a scram rail on your gun that would make it overheat but remedie the problem with CRYO rounds.I like some of what they added but dislike what they took away. PLEASE EA games are just like movies. The fiest one could be a block buster wile the sequel takes a dive.Remember the movie SPEED. What do you think about Speed 2?

I have to agree with you Siaisi. The first Mass Effect game crossed many boundries drawing in nonshooter fans to it's banner. ME 2 has become a shooter. The reason behind the Thermal Clips is rather lame given that Geth used beam weapons, and the Alliance did not....The introduction of Ammo to the game takes away the scifi feel. The Galaxy Map is tedious; and the piloting between planets, getting fuel and probes more so. Scanning planets makes me want to fall asleep.....The retrographics for landing, taking off, loading screens do not fit in along with the rest....unless you count the many graphic glitches throughout the game. The Mission Report screen is useless, and it's annoying that once you complete a mission you automatically go back to the ship or dock. The lack of chatter between party members outside cutscenes makes the game very dreary.....All in all, this game feels as if the design team was rushed, and it was put out much sooner than it should have been.

The wall is a strain on my tired eyes, so I'll respond to your title:

Although Mass Effect 1 is a beautiful and superb game, certain aspects were broken
