reasons:
           - Enemies are too strong and too numerous for your combat system
example: at the beginning of the game you find yourself in redcliffe castle up against a revenant and 5 corpses.. i mean it was introduced way too early in the game leaving the player to spend countless tries to defeat him and to that defeat his corpse accomplices in the process and you can only swing your weapon so fast. A solution for this is make the player at least defeat the enemy leader to win the engagement ( and still be able to collect experience for the remaining enemies)

           - Combat system is poor
again, the enemies are too strong and too numerous, you should be able to swing your weapon freely (like in fable) or at least let  the player win the engagement for killing the alpha enemy, or at least make them easier to kill, another solution is a 5th party member to enev the fight since the enemy party can have 5 members

        - Lack of auto saves
now this is one that is the biggest painin the ****, while the game does feature auto saves, however they are too few.. here are some examples of when the auto save should kick in:

                   - whenever you enter or leave a town
                   - before and after every random encounter
                   - after each quest is completed (this worked fine in Mass Effect, why mess with a good thing)
                   - after a boss has been defeated

the reason i complain about this is because a player who finally defeats a revenant and proceeds through redcliffe castle and defeats that kids uncle but gets ambushed and killed by the suits of armor will only end up having to go through the dungeon and spend another million tries to defeat that revenant

         - Lack of weapon variety
this one will make the game a bit better, adding some variety to the weapon selection, we need more than just daggers, long swords, great swords, and 3 kinds of bows and mage staves, how about adding some pole weapons such as javelins, spears, halberds, pikes or a morning star (you know, the spiked iron ball on the end of a chain) or even a lance, the list of midevil weapons can go on and on

well thats all i can come up with for now

Then don't play our game.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Considering 3.2 million being sold, one person doesn't really matter if you insult Dragon Age.

If you had suggestions, then make it more professional.

But if you're just going to insult and rage... Well then, good luck on convincing anyone to

take you serious.

Your first two points are squarely problems on your end as many find the combat too easy. Turn down the difficulty and if "easy" is too hard make sure to use the auto pause function and plan out your battles more carefully (as for Redcliffe, if its too hard do some sidequests elsewhere and level up first if you need too but you should be able to overcome any area regardless of what order you visit them in, again, its a problem with you not the game).

If you need more frequent autosaves you can always choose to save whenever you want as long as your not in combat. Whether or not the autosave performs to your liking is a matter of personal taste, not objective fact. For me, I don't even use it, I simply choose to save frequently.

As for your final point, more variety is always nice, but there are more weapoms than just what you listed there. Once again, this is a subjective opinion, but for me there was plenty of variety (not that more of anything wouldn't be welcomed, but I was not unhappy with whats there). And to connect this to your personal problem managing combat, if you can't get the job done with the more than ample tools you have already been provided, giving you more tools won't necessarily help...

Just my opinion, in response to your opinions...

If you favor a more interactive combat system ME2 might suit you well.

If you find the Revenants too tough, be sure to keep an eye out for little collections of jars which contain Revenant resistant items to help you defeat them.

Put your head in you ass and stop lost time here, silly girl.

EDIT: Okay, okay. To not be totally an ass...did you figure out you can open the gate for the Revenant fight?

Turning down the difficulty makes the game easier. Imagine that!

Seems like your major complaint is that the game is too difficult. I'll admit that when I first started, I found normal to be hard. After some time, however, you come to understand the mechanics and the game becomes easy.

Just remember that you'll almost always be outnumbered, so try these tactics:

1) use terrain (cornering, etc)

2) use a lot of CC. Every class has CC, but mages excel at it. Thus, it's recommended that you bring a mage w/ CC.

3) don't forget about your items. if you remember to use your items, the game can become very easy. Bombs, poisons, traps, potions, salves... all of these can help immensely.

Lastly, a lot of players, myself included, like the game difficulty. If it's too hard, just go to easy difficulty.

I didn't have any problem with the specified battle (Redcliffe) with my basic party. I didn't even remember to open the gate till after the fight (wouldn't have had anything to do with me being more than a little buzzed at the time..)..

The first 3 sound like personal problems.

I'm all for new weapons.... but lack of weapons doesn't ruin the game for me.

Now and then these posts pop up where people say "THE GAME IS TOO HARD, IT SUCKS"... and I don't really get it. If you're having trouble, why not just ask for advice on the forums? Now you're just bashing a game on a forum filled with people who like that game and you're just going to be attacked, and there'll be no constructive help for you. Come back a little more humble and post on the strategy section of the forum, and I think people will jump at the chance to help you out.

Everything you've criticized about the game is easily remedied. Don't blame BioWare for your personal failings. =P

Like Muffin_Tops pointed out, you can turn down the difficulty and pause the game to issue commands to your party members. Learn how to set party tactics and you can basically set any character but offensive mages on autopilot (in fact, I'm quite happy with how I've customized my healer). Additionally, you can make as many potions as you want, limited only by the amount of gold you have and your inventory space. The Circle of Magi have unlimited lyrium dust for mana potions, and the Dalish elves have unlimited elfroot for health potions. The dwarf merchant at camp has unlimited vials, so you're set for life. Set your party to drink potions automatically via their tactics if they go under 25% or even 50% health and you'll be wondering why you ever had problems with certain areas.

Incidentally, you should take at least one mage and one rogue with you on any run. Mages have the best crowd control, and rogues can defuse traps/open lockboxes. If your PC isn't a tank, you should take Alistair and send him in first to soak up hits (or if you have the stone prisoner DLC, you can take Shale instead). Don't let your party run around like headless chickens, triggering every trap from Redcliffe to Amarathine; set them to defensive, or pause frequently to issue controls manually. Use terrain to create choke points, and use spells and abilities to keep your squishiest and weakest party members out of harm's way. I'm aiming for the "I'm kind of a big deal" achievement (no party deaths) and I don't have to reload very often, but when I do, it's because I got sloppy and let my mage get hit. Considering the spells that my mage has (Winter's Grasp, Cone of Cold, Blizzard, Mind Blast, Force Field, Glyph of Paralysis + Glyph of Repulsion, Crushing Prison, Blood Wound), that shouldn't ever happen.

Use the quicksave feature. On the PC, it's F5. Some people don't have top-of-the-line computers, and having the game save before and after every encounter would be annoying at best and rageworthy at worst.

As for the weapons, that's a matter of opinion. And it is my opinion that your opinion is wrong. =P

People, there's no need to dogpile on someone that complains about the game.

Lightning: perhaps some of your complaints can be remedied by changing your tactics or party composition. Some people can solo this game on Nightmare, so the enemies aren't too hard. Some people do find the game hard though, so an easier setting might also be something to look into. As well, as someone previously mentioned, if you find an area too hard, try levelling up elsewhere and coming back to it later.

- Enemies are too strong and too numerous for your combat system

- Considering that most millions of people can handle this just fine, I have to say that I disagree and the fault lies mostly with yourself. Try to learn to understand the game, before you accuse it of overpowering you.

- Combat system is poor

- This isn't an action roll-playing game though, it's a true-to-form classic role-playing game which relies on your characters assorted ability scores than your trigger fingers. The most it demands of you as a player is a tactic-enabled mind, like playing chess.

- Lack of auto saves

- This could be an more legitimate request, or complaint, but asking the game to do for you what you should essentially be doing yourself is just being lazy. The game auto-saves at pretty regular intervals and if you don't learn from that and quick-save regularly, then yes, the game is going to make you go through something over and over. DO NOT RELY ON THE GAME TO TREAT YOU LIKE A BABY! It assumes you are an adult.

- Lack of weapon variety

- This one I can sort of agree with. Though I see the problem in implementing the weapons you suggested as well. They'd all require animations unique to their pallate and require weapon animations.

Well it's hard to advise without knowing the system you are playing on but if it's P.C. I don't think the game is too hard. The P.C. version of this game (I own the PS3 version as well) is vastly superior to the consoles mainly because of the interface. The button bar at the bottom, the full zoom out tac. camera controls and combat pausing make this a truly tactical experience. The console versions are a little lacking in this dept., mainly because they are made for a controller and not a keyboard and mouse. That also takes into account why the p.c. version will always be more challenging at the same difficulty setting...The game knows you have a more tactical interface and ups the ante.

If it truely is just outright difficult turn down the current difficulty and try it again, then after your certain trouble fights turn it back up. You can determin the difficulty of each and every fight if you want. LOL your Redcliffe Revenant example reminded me of the first time I fought the Revenant in the Mage tower at lvl 8 on Nightmare... I nearly shat myself. But now Revs. are a joke on any difficulty...like anything else once you get how to take it down it's simple.
