I was watching a video of G4's Xplay host and he said his playthrough of ME2 was 56 hours. I seem to have mised almost half the game? I capped out at level 30 infiltrator, made every star system 100% and had almost 90k resources in every catagory when I finished.  What the heck was the G4 guy doing differently?

Such an exageration seems really unnessiscary .

Yeah, I beat the game on Infiltrator at around 25 hours. Longest so far at 27 on Insanity. I dunno, I guess people like sitting around staring at... stuff?

Pretty sure I did most of the missions but I didn't get to level 30, was either at 27 or 28

Nothing.  Either he mis-spoke or you mis-heard.

Maybe he decided to sit there until each and every planet was mined to "depleted" status...

Not that I honestly believe someone can do that for 20+ hours, though...

I did all of the sidequests, skipped no dialogue, and generally took my time and clocked in around 37 on Insanity.

i clocked in at around 40 hrs on first play through, I don't think 56 is that much if it was first play through since when you first get the game you're basically clueless ( unless you decide to read the strat guide from cover to cover )

I did EVERYTHING in 23 hours on Insanity. That means every last side quest, loyalty mission, ALL upgrades(including the scanning for needed materials) AND everyone survived. Absolute 100% completion....hell I even did the fish side quest on the citadel, bought all upgrades, model ships and armor parts from stores and I dropped by long enough to tell the council where to shove it.

I had absolutely nothing left to do.....all of everything in 23 hours on Insanity. There is NO way they took 56 hours.

Scanning every planet, reading every entry, going over every codex, listening through every ad, every news report etc etc, I think it COULD be done in that time

LOL that way I guess you could have all the resources and upgrades.

I play both, avg time played is 34 hours. Could have been a SLOW PC, because i am sure load time adds up considering how much if you have to deal with.

Maybe he read all the codex and didn't skip any conversations (and speaking to all team mates after each mission)? Don't forget there are about 20 N7 missions.Or maybe he just spent hours looking at the fish tank.

Dude you can get enough minerals for ALL upgrades(yep every last one of them) in less than a couple of hours. I usually scan no more than 10 planets to depleted status and combine with my starting 60k in each of the 4 resource types and I did every last upgrade during one 23 hour Insanity playthrough.

I'm not surprised it could take 50 hours to complete the game esp if:

-- You listen to every line of dialog all the way through

-- You backtrack to find every single solitary piece of loot on every level

-- You don't mine efficiently [I didn't my first 2 times through]

-- You do every single mission, side quest, etc.

-- You visit every person after each mission to see if they have something new to say

-- You let the console run while you have dinner

-- etc....

there's about 5 ads on the citadel plus about 10 to 15 news feed, there are also 5 odd "ads" on Illium standing around and listening to these seemingly random things will bump up to count a bit

if you fast forward the speeches the game can be finished in the sub 20 hr range. at the end of the day playstyle matters

I know Adam Sessler (I can't speak for others at the show) is the kind of gamer who makes sure his character walks over every surface of ground he can walk on. He searches every square inch and talks to anyone who will talk to him and probably even to those who won't.

I'm not surprised it took someone that meticulous, who gets paid to play, 50+ hours to complete this game.

I got 45 hours but..

1)Checked every nook and cranny of this game (but played on Normal/Veteran)

2)Did a lot of scanning until I realized it's useless

3)Did all missions, and most N7

4)Read all the codex

That sort of deal. I also probably left it idle like 5-7 hours lol.

G4 is full of many things, much of which is alot less appealing then bananas.
