I was watching a video of G4's Xplay host and he said his playthrough of ME2 was 56 hours. I seem to have mised almost half the game? I capped out at level 30 infiltrator, made every star system 100% and had almost 90k resources in every catagory when I finished. What the heck was the G4 guy doing differently?
Such an exageration seems really unnessiscary .
56 hours? G4 is full of bananas!

Do a complete playthrough on Insane with and Adept, I am pretty sure folks will easily get over 40+ hours on that.
However I suspect that he simply took his time. Your speed of play is... well, your speed.

My first playthrough was 54 hours.
- I listened to every Codex, read every Codex.
- I revisited places all the time, talked to ppl all the time to see if there is something new
- During mission, after taking down the mobs, I combed the area for any crates and etc.
- I depleted most of the planets
- I spent a lot of time exploring all the conversation options available.
- After each hard day's work, I always take time to talk to each squad member, and I always retired to my cabin, listened to music, fed the fish, admire my achievements and etc.
Make sense?

If you want to feel this game in every aspect of a RPG game, you will have 45-50 average time for game. This was my time and still have things to do.... absolutely not scanned all the planet goesh :-)

Virtually no time at all spent in the codex, as much of the information seemed to be recycled from ME1 anyway.

Maybe he played Insanity and died a lot.
I think ME2 doesn't add up the time when you die it resets back to your previous point. I think

My first playthrough on normal as Adept was 55hrs. My second playthrough on Insanity with Infiltrator (skipping a lot of dialogue, not mining to much, not going most side missions, and not doing Samara, Mordin, Jacob, Thane, or Legions loyalty) was 44 hours.
I guess some people are just slower?
EDIT:
First playthrough I did all side missions, loyalty missions, scanned every planet, listened to all conversations, over mined, got most upgrades, did not read many (if any codex), and did not read Planet descriptions. Shep was a lvl 50 ME1 import, and I finished ME2 @ lvl 29)
Second playthrough, as stated earlier. Mined just enough for the upgrades I needed, only did a few side missions, hardly scanned any planets, did not read any codex, did not read any descriptions, skipped most conversations and cut-scenes, only did loyalty for Zaeed, Miranda, Jack, Garrus, Grunt, and Tali, and finished the game at lvl 26.
All that I skipped still only saved me 11 hours. I really don't know what I am doing that makes my time so high

AND I and was playing on Normal Difficulty.
i'm expecting subsequent playthroughts to take in the 20-25 hour range now that I know what I'm doing and know there is no ned to scour every inch of a level for upgrades, since it's just credits and med gel laying around.
Spent no codexlooking at the codex or readingplanet descriptions, but I do have 100% for every system (pet peeve of mine that I had to check if there was any side missions on them).
I even "probed" Uranus :innocent:

My first playtrough was 37 hours on veteran and i didnt scan even one third of the planets, missed a lot of side missions too and didnt read codex at all.
Most of that time went in dialogues tho. Its suprising how much time you actualy spend talking with people if you actualy read and listen everything they say and go trough all possible options with them.
Its not hard to imagine spending 50-100 hours on one playtrough if you do EVERYTHING, read everything and so on...
Now im playing insanity vanguard, im at 25 hours and i have done some side missions and few loyalty missions and i am about to enter that dead reaper. I have even skipped big portion of the conversations.
Seriously.... how can someone playtrough EVERYTHING (Including all conversations and conversation options) on insanity in 25 hours? daaaaamn

Listening to all dialogue, exhausting all dialogue, traveling around to get back to stores and buying what was left, taking your time in missions, replaying a few missions if you really liked them, searching for and doing all N7 missions, it's not that hard to see.
Not everyone treats a game as a race to see how fast you can finish it.

I call BS on any saying I finished everything in the game on Insanity lvl in 23 hours.. Only if you cheated. If so post a vid of yourself on Insanity taking on the hordes of Husks on the dead reaper. Then I might believe you..
I'm not trying to race anyone sheesh, I just want to get the most out of the game.
I'm also not playing on Insanity, I'm on the one up from normal where my infiltrator 1 shots most things that aren't shielded with the sniper rifle. I use Subject Zero to take out the husks with shockwave.
