All of the characters from ME1 and ME2 (provided they didn't die, of course). They should all be active party members too.  Make it one big grand finale to the trilogy.

I loved all the characters in ME and in ME2 and there's nothing in a world I would trade them for anything.

But as a Turians said once in a conversation which I don't remember "But no... Univers loves diversity ":lol:

Tali, Garrus, and Joker:  For continuity's sake.  As others have mentioned, it just wouldn't be ME without them.

Ashley:  She went on every mission with me in ME1.  Not only was she a great soldier and buddy, but she was my LI as well.  I still can't believe that, given her prominent role in ME1, she wasn't an available squad member in ME2...

Mordin:  Because every spaceship needs a wacky scientist...love his comments...never quite sure what's going to come out of his mouth next...

Legion:  Just because there's a lot of potential there that I wasn't able to fully realize.  On my second playthrough I made a point of saving all of the N7 missions for after the the suicide mission--just so I would have the chance to play him.  Unfortunately, I've found that anything after the last mission is more than a bit anti-climactic.  I would really like to see more interaction between him and Tali.

Hmmm...Tali AND Ashley both "available"...arrrrgh...talk about being torn....I wish it were possible to have a meaningful non-LI relationship in the game...rather than having members of the opposite sex always assuming that you only have one reason for wanting to talk to them.................

I dont like Miranda and Jacob so much but I think all the romance alternetives have to come back, pretty unfair otherwise. I dont mind if Samara comes back,, she´s cool. Dont know about Jack, she´s so ****y when she thinks that you are lesbian and wants to hook up with her.Want her as a friend.

And Joker!! no mass effect without Joker:D

Tali, though everyone probably expected that.

The Matriarch Bartender. She had an interesting view on how the Asari should be raising their children, and I'd be interested to see if she's swayed anyone to her way of thinking. It actually made a lot of sense.

That Quarian chick from the Citadel who's name I can't remember. The one  who was accused of stealing the Volus' Credit Chit. I'm not really interested in her as a squad-mate or a Love Interest; I just want to know how her Pilgrimage is going (or went). I felt really bad that I couldn't help her get set up on a job to help her along on her Pilgrimage. At the very least, I wanted to give her a hug.

The Rachni Queen. That was the only choice I made in ME1 that actually touched me on an emotional level when I saw the results. Even if she doesn't help me out, I'd love to be able to go to whatever planet she's settled down on to make sure she's doing okay.

I'd also like to see Mordin return. He's getting old by Salarian standards, but I'd be interested to see if he's put any of his personal demons to rest.

Other than that, I can't really think of anyone.

Tali, Garrus and Mordin for sure as team members for sure. I'd prefer to see everyone back, but those 3 make or break it for me, especially the first two. I'd also love to see the entire non-squad Normandy crew back (Donnely, Gabby, Joker, Doc Chakwas, EDI, Kelly, the cook, the two talking in the crew quarters, all of them!)



Other than that I'd be really interested in having Legion again and solving the "Quarian problem". Maybe get some more info on the Rachni Queen and of course I want to know how Liara's business turns out (would be nice if she'd join the team again as well)



Oh, and did I mention Tali and Garrus?

I pretty much agree with the OP's wish list. But yeah, why not bring everybody (who survived in your game) back? Thane and Legion are on the top of my list here.



Other than that, off the top of my head I want to see more Aria. And that salarian store clerk -Marab- from Citadel ^^ Of course, the asari bartender from Illıum.

The ones I really need in ME3 would be Garrus, Tali, Liara and Mordin. Garrus has been with me on every mission from ME1 and he was my first recruit in ME2. Tali grew on me a lot in ME2 and I would love to see where the writers will take her next. Liara was my LI so she's a given. Still a bit disappointed about her role in ME2 so they have a lot to make up for in ME3. Mordin was just brilliant from start to finish and the only new character I really cared about.

All party members from both ME1 and ME2 of course. As for the minor characters: I would definitely like to see Shiala again. I think BioWare owe us that much, after that tease on Illium, just before she left for Zhu's Hope again.

A character I missed in ME2 was Dr. Chloe Michel. Yeah, you'll get an email from her, but I wished Shepard and Garrus could actually meet her again, like she suggested in her message. She didn't have a lot of background and screen time, but I thought she was nice enough.

Kal'Reegar whas pretty cool, too, I think. Even cool enough to let him survive the Colossus when playing a renegade Shepard.

Thane would have died, Samara claims she would leave after they were done and Jack and jacobs are terribly predictable crappy characters and would LOVE to see them killed off as quick as possible!

For god sakes I sure as hell hope Zaeed makes it into mass effect 3 and gives himactually dialogue. He is an awesome character and would like to know more about him.



Other than that just about everyone else should make a return with the exceptions of.

and please replace grunt with wrex I really want to have an interesting Krogan squadmate and im pissed i had to deal with some shallow imitation with a name the synonym for cannon fodder.
