Ultima on the APPLE II-that was in 6th grade at school in Augsburg. I then started getting the old SSI Gold Box D&D and AD&D games. Started with Pools of Radiance, then went the entire series.
What was your first ever RPG?

My first RPG was B2 Keep on the Borderlands which came with the D&D Basic Set back in 1980. On a computer I guess the first proper RPG I played was Eye of the Beholder on the Amiga 600.
Hey! That was my first PnP RPG module too. I remember it was the only time I played a thief (but made it to 14th or so level.) Think I played it in 1982, and it touched off a long standing love affair with
My first computer RPG was Tales of the Unknown: The Bard's Tale.

I started playing RPG's late because I was more into platformers than anything. But my first RPG was Secret of Evermore for the SNES.

Does Zelda count? If not, then it would be Neverwinter Nights 1.

Dragon Warrior on NES was my first, however there wasn't much RPG element to it. Phantasy Star was another which had a bit more dialog than Dragon Warrior.

Wow, I had this game on cassette. It took 45 minutes to run and was written in Basic. I remember modifying the lines to give myself all 18's in my stats (not that it helped.)

Baldur's gate would be the first I guess... As I do not remember the cyberpunk sci-fi game I used to play for NES... Also there might have been some for Commodore 64 back at the day but I don't really remember the names of the games I played back then as it is such a long time ago....
