Chrono Trigger on SNES I believe was the very very first RPG I ever finished.
What was your first ever RPG?

My first RPG would have been D&D for pen and paper it was way back and not sure which rehash it was.
For console or PC it was Chrono Trigger

Not quite sure, these are some of my favorite and I all beat them at the same time
Sega= Phantasy Star 4(master piece, and first game I saw that combined attacks if cast in order, wind +cold=huge blizzard)
PC- Kings quest 4, lands of lore
Most memeroable from my youth tho is probably BG and Xenogears.
SNES; Secert of Mana
SHADOW RUN!!! x 2
The Sega and SNes versions came out the same month, but were two very different awesome rpgs.

Pokemon Blue. Which is, let's be honest, jrpg perfection. After that FFVIII, then the next time I dabbled with rpg's, they were Western and they were so, so good!

As far as 3D RPG's go, it's Grandia II for the Dreamcast for me (NOT THE CRAP PS2 PORT) one of the best stories and soundtrack I've ever seen/heard. It really looks great with the VGA adapter.
If you haven't tried it and have access to a Dreamcast than I would recommend it!!

Mine was Dragon Warrior on the NES, just about a year or two previous to Final Fantasy.

I think the first one I played was either Dungeon Master or Eye of The Beholder in the early 90's. I wasn't interested in RPG's at first but later I became a fan and started to collect most of the games about the Forgotten Realms. I have a collection of 12 DOS games called the Forgotten Realms Archives, the BG series, IWD, IWD2, NWN with expansions, NWN2 and now DA:O. That's all I think.
